국문 초록

이 글은 북한산이 우리 역사에서 차지하는 역사적 위상을 점검하기 위해 작성되었다. 역사 이래로 북한산은 우리와 호흡을 같이하며 지금의 모습으로까지 이어지고 있다. 삼국시대에는 백제 초기의 중심지로서, 또는 삼국의 쟁패지로서 주요한 군사 전략적 요충지였다. 이런 점 때문에 삼국의 문화가 교차되고 융합될 수 있는 좋은 장점이 있는 곳이기도 하다. 이 부분은 향후 북한산에 대한 조사 과정에서 주목해 살펴볼 부분이다. 고려시대 이후로는 왕실과 국가의 안녕을 유지하는 중요한 위치를 점하였으며, 그것이 결국 조선후기 북한산성의 축성으로 이어지며 金城湯池로써의 역할을 충실하게 수행하였다. 북한산은 오래전부터 불교와 인연을 맺으며, 많은 사찰이 건축되고 소멸하거나 혹은 현존하고 있다. 북한산의 불교는 다양한 종파와 신앙이 공존하였다. 북한산은 불교 이외에도 도당굿이라는 민속신앙이 演行되는 곳으로 불교와 민속신앙이 함께 공존하는 곳이기도 하였다. 북한산은 또한 문화적으로 기후 관측소로서의 역할을 수행하였을 뿐 아니라 조선후기에는 史庫로서, 또한 많은 사찰을 통해서 도서가 간행되는 곳이기도 하였다. 이 점은 오늘날 북한산의 가치를 새롭게 정립하고자 할 때 중요한 요소라 하겠다. 앞으로는 북한산이 인간의 삶의 무대였다는 점을 주목하여, 이 공간에서 인간의 모습을 추적해야 할 것이다. 이런 관점에서 山城都市의 모습을 추적하는 것은 과제이다.

영문 초록

This article examines the historical status of Bukhansan Mountain in our history. During the Three Kingdoms Period, it was a major military strate gic point as the early c e nte r of Bae kje or as a battle fie ld for the Thre e Kingdoms. Be cause of this, it i s also a place whe re the culture s of the Three Kingdoms can be fused. This is a part to pay attention to in the future investigation process of Bukhansan Mountain. After the Goryeo Dynasty, it occupied an important position to maintain the well-being of the royal family and the state, which eventually led to the construction of Bukhansanseong Fortress in the late Joseon Dynasty and faithfully played a role as an impossible fortress. In addition, Bukhansan Mountain has been associated with Buddhism for a long time, and many temples have been built and destroyed, or have been handed down to this day. Buddhism in Bukhansan Mountain coexisted with various sects and beliefs. Bukhansan Mountain is a place where the folk belief called Dodanggut is p ractice d, a nd i t was also a place whe re Buddhism and folk b e l iefs c oe xist. Bukhansan Mountain a lso se rved as a c ultural climate observatory, and it was also a place where books were published through many t emple s and as S ago in t he late Joseon Dynasty. I n the above , the value of Bukhansan Mountain w as e xamine d in t erms of history. It should be noted that Bukhansan Mountain was the stage of human life, and it is necessary to t rack the human figure in this space. From this point of view, it is also a task to explain the appearance of Fortress-City.
