국문 초록

사회교육의 개념을 ‘사회적 기능’이라는 보다 고유한 개념으로 다시금 인식하려는 학문적 논의가 이어지고 있다. 사회적 기능 중심 사회교육은 사회문제에 대한 교육적 해결책을 제공하는 것과 관련되며, 교육을 통하여 사회적 상황을 변화시키는 것에 주목한다. 본 연구는 사회적 기능 중심 사회교육의 실천원리를 파악하고 그것이 개념적으로 어떤 의미를 갖는지 분석하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 사회교육을 정립하고 실천했던 대표적 사상가인 페스탈로치, 그룬트비히, 린드만, 프레이리의 사상을 8가지 세부 준거로 탐구하고 비교분석하여 공통점과 차이점을 밝히고, 사회적 기능 중심 사회교육의 통합적인 실천원리 및 개념적 의미를 탐색하였다. 사회적 기능 중심 사회교육의 실천원리는 목적·내용·과정 측면, 방법·전략·주체 측면, 사회교육자 측면으로 구분하여 구체화하였다. 이를 토대로 한 사회교육 실천의 개념적 수준 및 유형은 교육을 통한 사회변화 가능성, 교육적 가치와 사회적 가치의 관계, 교육평등과 사회평등의 관계, 교육자와 학습자의 관계, 의식화와 조직화의 관계로 논의하였다.

영문 초록

There is a continuing academic discussion to recognize the concept of social education as a more unique concept of 'social function'. Social function-centered social education is related to providing educational solutions to social problems and focuses on changing social situations through education. The purpose of this study is to understand the practical principles of social function-centered social education and to analyze its conceptual meaning. This study explores and compares the ideas of Pestalozzi, Grundtvig, Lindeman, Freire, representative social education thinkers who established and practiced social function-centered social education, and identified common points and differences, and explored the integrated practice principles and conceptual meanings of social function-centered social education. The practical principles of social function-centered social education were embodied in the aspects of purpose, contents, process, method, strategy, subject, and social educator. Based on this, the conceptual level and type of social education practice were discussed as the possibility of social change through education, the relationship between educational value and social value, the relationship between education equality and social equality, the relationship between educators and learners, and the relationship between consciousness and organization.
