미술교과서의 공예교육 분석

국문 초록

초등학교, 중학교, 고등학교 미술교과서는 보편적인 교육의 목적에 따라 구성된 내용들로, 공예 분야는 그다지 많은 비중을 차지하지 않고 있으며, 실제 미술교육에서도 회화와 조각, 디자인에 비해 공예는 다루어지기 힘든 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 초등학교 ·중학교 ·고등학교 미술교과서에서 제시된 공예교육의 내용을 중심으로 분석하고, 공예 분야의 통합적 속성들을 교육내용으로 재인식하는 시각을 제안하고자 한다. 미술교과서에서 제시된 공예교육의 필요성 및 방향은 생활에서 필요한 물건을 만들거나 꾸밀 때 쓸모와 아름다움을 생각하며 형태와 색을 창의적으로 표현해 내는 활동이다. 미술교과에서 공예는 미술의 범주 속에서 한 장르로서 선별된 내용을 중심으로 하며, 다소 전통적인 시각의 공예개념에 머물러 있다. 특히 눈에 띄는 것은 미술교육이 체험 - 표현 -감상의 구조에서 공예는 주로 감상영역에 한정되어 소개되고 있어, 공예교육의 영역에서 체험이나 표현은 거의 고려되고 있지 않다는 사실이다. 이로 인하여 공예교육에서 재료를 전제로 전개될 수밖에 없는 물성적인 체험의 중요성은 누락되어 있다. 즉 미술교과의 범주에서 공예 영역의 교육적인 자원을 선별하는 과정에서 체험이 누락된 것은 공예의 고유한 속성들과 연결되기에는 근원적인 문제를 지닐 수밖에 없다고 생각된다. 공예는 디지털 사회에서 학습자들이 결여하기 쉬운 아날로그적인 행위를 기반으로 하는 분야이다. 공예의 통합적 속성은 교육자원으로서 학습자의 성장에 커다란 역할을 할 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구가 미래의 미술교육에서 추구되어야 할 가치와 교육내용을 구성할 수 있는 기준으로 활용된다면, 문화적 실체로서 공예품에 담긴 존재론적 가치와 연결되는 삶에서의 질적인 가치들을 회복하는데 공헌할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

영문 초록

Art textbook in elementary,middle and high School consist of contents with universal purpose of education, craft education is not enough and less perforn than painting, sculpture, and design in the field of art education. This study analysis craft contents of art textbook in elementary, middle and high school, and propose reconstruction about art contents in the integrated properties of crafts. The purpose and direction is making something and decorating beauty and using in everyday living, and creative activity with form and color. Craft contents in art textbook select of part in art category, and somewhat focused on traditional viewpoint. Especially experience-expression- appreciation structure in art textbook, crafts limits to appreciation, deficient in experience or expression in crafts realm.Therefore the importance of physical properties experience is disappeared. I think absence of physical properties experience in craft education in the select educational contents in art textbook has essential problems. Crafts are unique in that based on limited analogue activities which existin this high-advanced digital-based industrial society. The holistic recognition in crafts be reconsidered as educational resources thatcan help improve the learners ability.In this respect,this paperserves to explain valuesand educationalcontentsin art textbook, then tapping into such resources and enriching the learners lives are dependent a lot on the capabilities of crafts.
