국내 장수 소상공인의 현황과 과제

국문 초록

장수 소상공인의 발굴 및 육성을 위해서는 관련 기초통계 현황 파악이 필수적 요소이나, 현재 장수 소상공인에 관한 정보는 매우 열악한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 국내 장수 소상공인의 기초 통계자료 생성 및 특성 파악을 목적으로 ‘2018년도 전국사업체조사’ 결과를 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 업력 30년 이상의 장수 소상공인은 110,302개로 전체 소상공인 대비 3.5% 수준이었다. 이중 업력 50년 이상은 2,504개(0.1%), 100년 이상 된 사업체는 27개(0.001%)로 극히 소수인 것으로 파악되었다. 지역별 전체 소상공인 대비 장수 소상공인의 비중은 서울이 가장 높고, 다음 전라남도, 부산광역시, 전라북도 순으로 높게 나타났다. 반면, 경기도의 소상공인 수는 전국에서 가장 많았으나 장수 소상공인의 비중은 1.7%로 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 업종별장수 소상공인의 비중은 ‘광업’, ‘보건업 및 사회복지 서비스업’, ‘운수 및 창고업’ 순으로 높았으나, 전체 소상공인 수(數) 중 2위를 차지하고 있는 ‘숙박 및 음식점’업의 장수 소상공인 비중은 매우 낮은 0.8%로 나타나 타 업종대비 상대적으로 낮은 생존율이 확인되었다.

영문 초록

The information on longevity of micro enterprises is very inadequate even though the basic statistics related to micro enterprises is the essential determinants to discover and promote the longevity of micro enterprise. Consequently, this study analyzed basic statistical data and characteristics of longevity of domestic micro enterprise by using the results of the 2018 Census on Establishment . As a result of the analysis, there were 110,302 micro enterprises with more than 30 years of firm age, covering 3.5% of the total micro enterprises. Among them, it was discovered that 2,504 (0.1%) companies survived more than 50 years, and only 27 (0.001%) companies survived more than 100 years. By region, there was a high proportion of micro enterprises with more than 30 years of firm age in Seoul, followed by Jeollanam-do, Busan, and Jeollabuk-do. On the other hand, the total number of micro enterprise in Gyeonggi-do was the highest in Korea, but the proportion of those with over 30 years of firm age was the lowest at 1.7%. By industry, there was a high proportion of micro enterprise with more than 30 years of firm age in the order of ‘mining , health and social welfare service , and transport and warehousing . For ‘lodging and restaurant’, it ranked 2nd in total number of micro enterprises but covered only 0.8% in those with more than 30 years of firm age, showing a very low survival rate compared to the other industries.
