한문 교과서 번역의 방향성에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본고는 한문 교과서 번역의 방향성에 대한 것이다. 그 방향성이란 중등 한문 교과 목표 달성의 효율, 효과 등을 고려한 것이다. 즉 일반 독자, 연구자 등이 아닌 중고등학교 학생을 대상으로 할 때 한문 교과서 번역은 어떠해야 하는가에 대한 고찰인 것이다. 본고에서는 2015개정 한문과 교육과정에 의해 집필된 고등학교 한문Ⅰ 교과서 6종에 실린 ‘借鷄騎還’, 2015 한문Ⅰ교과서 5종에 실린 ‘萬德’, 2015 한문Ⅰ교과서 2종 및 2015 중학교 한문 교과서 9종에 실린 ‘訓民正音解例本’, 2015 중학교 한문 교과서 3종에 실린 『湛軒書』의 ‘人與物均’을 중심으로 논의를 진행하였다. 연구 방법으로는 언어적 측면에 집중하여, 구법과 어휘 두 각도에서 접근하였다. 전자에 대해서는 문장 경계의 동일성과 생략된 요소의 복원과 관련된 논의를 하였다. 현토, 번역, 표점이 모두 동일해야 한다는 것과 원천언어에서 생략된 요소는 목표언어에서는 괄호 처리가 필요하다는 점을 주장하였다. 후자에 대해서는 한문의 한자 어휘를 적극적으로 사용할 것과 원천언어를 활용한 어휘를 선택할 것을 제언하였다. 한문 교과서의 번역은 텍스트의 내용 파악을 위해 원천언어를 목표언어로 단순히 바꾸는 행위가 아니라 텍스트와의 상호 관계를 통해 한문과의 목표를 달성하는 역동적인 조작으로 이해되어야 할 것이다. 즉 번역문은 원문과 동시에 일정한 위치와 역할을 갖고, 교수학습 재료로 활용될 수 있도록 구성되어야 한다.

영문 초록

This article is about the direction of the translation of Classical Chinese textbooks. The direction is to consider the effectiveness and effectiveness of achieving the goals of the secondary Chinese language curriculum. This is a reflection on how to translate Classical Chinese textbooks when targeting middle and high school students rather than general readers and researchers. This paper focused on the study of ‘Chagyegihwan(借鷄騎還)’, ‘Mandeok(萬德)’, ‘HunminjeongeumHaeryebon(訓民正音解例本)’, ‘『Damheonbook(湛軒書)』 work’. These texts appear a lot in middle and high school Classical Chinese textbooks. As a research method, it was approached in terms of syntactic and vocabulary. For the former, discussions related to the identity of sentence boundaries and restoration of omitted elements were discussed. For the latter, it was suggested to actively use the Classical Chinese vocabulary of Classical Chinese characters and to select a vocabulary using the source language. The translation of Classical Chinese textbooks should be understood as dynamic manipulation to achieve goals with Classical Chinese through interrelationships with the text, not simply changing the original language to the target language to grasp the content of the text. In other words, the translated text must have a certain position and role at the same time as the original text, and must be structured so that it can be used as a teaching and learning material.
