청소년의 다문화수용성이 학습활동을 매개로 사회과 자기 평가에 미치는 종단적 영향력 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 청소년의 다문화수용성이 시간이 경과함에 따라 학교적응의 하위영역인 학습활동을 매개로 사회과 자기 평가에 미치는 영향력을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동·청소년패널조사 (Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey: KCYPS)의 자료를 잠재성장모형(Latent Growth Model)을 사용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학교 2학년부터 고등학교 3학년 까지 다문화수용성과 사회과 자기 평가는 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였으나, 학습활동은 변화가 없 는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초기 시점인 중학교 2학년에서 다문화수용성은 학습활동을 통해서 사회 과 자기 평가에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화수용성의 변화는 학습활동의 변화를 매개로 사회과 자기평가의 변화에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 초기시점과 변화 율에서 다문화수용성은 사회과 자기 평가에 통계적으로 유의한 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으 로 나타났다. 즉, 다문화수용성은 학습활동을 매개로만 사회과 자기 평가에 긍정적인 영향력을 미친 다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 청소년의 다문화수용성의 함양은 학습활동을 돕고, 또한 학습활동을 통해 서 학업성취도 향상에 도움이 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the influence of adolescents multicultural acceptability on social studies self-assessment through learning activities, a sub-area of school adaptation over time. To this end, data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) were analyzed using the Latent Growth Model. The analysis results are as follows. First, from the second year of middle school to the third year of high school, multicultural acceptability and social studies self-assessment increased statistically significantly, but learning activities did not change. Second, it was found that multicultural acceptability had a statistically significant effect on social studies self-assessment through learning activities in the early second grade of middle school. Third, the change in multicultural acceptability had a significant influence on the change in social studies self-assessment through the change in learning activities. Fourth, it was found that multicultural acceptability did not have a statistically significant direct effect on social studies self-assessment at the initial point of time and rate of change. In other words, it can be said that multicultural acceptability has a positive influence on social studies self-evaluation only through learning activities. Therefore, it was confirmed that the cultivation of adolescents multicultural acceptability helps their learning activities and also helps improve academic achievement through learning activities.
