영화 <혼자>의 롱테이크와 촬영기술 연구

국문 초록

영화 <혼자>는 최근 한국의 주류 대중영화와 다른 매우 독특한 촬영 스타일을 보여 준다. 이는 비단 상업영화와 독립영화라는 제작시스템에서 오는 차이를 넘어 주류 상업영화에서 즐겨 사용하는 익숙한 촬영방식이나 편집 등과 의도적인 거리를 두면서 나름의 미학적 성취를 얻어내고 있고, 이런 지점에서 <혼자>는 소수의 예술영화전용관에서 한정적으로 개봉되었음에도 불구하고 국내 및 해외 영화제와 평단에서 주목을 받으며 호평을 얻었다. 특히, 시각적 판타지를 만들어내는 과정에서 영상제작 테크놀로지를 다루는 방식에 있어 다른 영화들이 취하는 태도와 매우 다른 태도를 취하고 있으면서도 나름의 미학적, 양식적 완성도를 이루어 내고 있는 점은 매우 주목할 만하다. 이 글에서는 <혼자>에서 사용하고 있는 촬영의 스타일과 테크놀로지를 분석해 보면서 이런 요소들이 영화의 스토리텔링과 미학적 완성도에 어떤 기여를 하고 있는지 살펴보고자 한다.

영문 초록

The movie Alone shows a very unique cinematographic style that is different from the recent mainstream popular films in South Korea. This goes beyond the difference that comes from the production systems of commercial films and independent films, and achieves its own aesthetic achievements by deliberately keeping a distance from the familiar shooting methods and editing used in mainstream commercial films. At this point, Alone has received favorable reviews from Korean domestic and overseas film festivals and critics, despite its limited release in a small number of art film theaters. In particular, it is noteworthy that in the process of creating a visual fantasy, the film’s method of handling new technology for visual effects is strikingly different from that of other films, while achieving its own aesthetic and stylistic perfection. In this article, the cinematographic style and technology used in Alone are analyzed, and how these factors contribute to the storytelling and the aesthetic perfection of the film is examined.
