감성사회의 도래와 고등학교 사회과교육의 방향

국문 초록

20세기로 대변되는 근대가 이성, 합리성이 지배하였다면 21세기로 대변되는 탈근대는 감성, 심미성이 한층 존중될 것이다. 21세기 사회는 이질성과 차이를 인정하면서 정의가 실천되는 사회를 지향할 것이며, 동시에 감성적 가치라 할 수 있는 행복, 영성, 상호인정, 타자성 등이 중요시될 것이다. 이 글에서는 감성사회의 관점에서 사회과교육을 둘러싼 몇 가지 쟁점과 담론을 제기한다. 먼저, 현장차원에서 나타나는 사회과교육의 실태와 한계상황을 거시적 및 미시적 차원으로 검토한다. 이런 사회과교육을 둘러싼 현장여건에 대한 검토를 바탕으로 미래 사회과교육을 둘러싼 반성의 계기를 열고자 한다. 다음으로, 최근 새롭게 전개되는 탈근대성을 감성사회의 측면에서 다루어봄으로써 사회과교육이 지향해야 할 방향에 대한 이론적 근거로 삼고자 한다. 마지막으로, 감성사회의 도래에 즈음하여 사회과교육이 지향해야 할 21세기 형 사회과교육의 구체적 방향(교육목표, 교육과정, 교육방법)을 현장입장에서 몇 가지로 타진한다. 사회과교육에 감성적 특성을 반영함으로써 현장 사회과교육이 좀더 풍요로워질 수 있는 가능성을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The modern society which is represented by 20th century governed rationality and rationality. On the other hand, the postmodern society which is represent by 21th century will govern sensitivity and aesthetic characteristic. The 21st century societies recognize a heterogeneity and a difference and then will be aimed the society that the justice is guaranteed. Simultaneously, the values of sensibility, that s happiness, spirituality, mutual recognition, the Other etc. will be considered seriously. In this paper, I present the controversies and the discussions over the social studies education in the aspect of sensibility society by contrast with rational society. First, I review the present conditions and a limits of social studies education which is appeared in the field of school from macroscopic(structural) and microscopic(consciously) areas. Secondly, I try to observe about the concept, formation, and core contents of the sensitivity society from the theoretical dimension. Finally, I explore about concrete directions(educational aim, curriculum, educational method) of future social studies education from position of coming of the sensitivity society.
