STEAM 연구학교 프로그램에 제시된 핵심역량 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 STEAM 연구학교 교사들이 개발한 STEAM 프로그램이 핵심역량을 강조하여 개발되었는지 확인하고 STEAM 학습준거 단계에 따라 반드시 반영되어야 하는 핵심역량을 선정하여, 실제 프로그램과의 차이를 알아보기 위함이다. 이를 위해 2015년 STEAM 연구학교에서 개발된 268개 프로그램 중 단계적 표집을 거쳐 학교 급별로 10개의 프로그램이 선정되었다. 연구 결과 첫째, 프로그램에 제시된 핵심역량은 학교 급별로 큰 차이가 없었으며, 비판적 사고, 문제해결은 반영 비율이 비교적 낮았고, 배려심과 책임감의 핵심역량은 거의 반영되지 않고 있었다. 둘째, STEAM 학습준거 단계에 반드시 반영되어야 할 핵심역량으로 상황제시 단계에서는 창의적 사고와 의사소통이었다. 창의적 설계 단계에서는 융합도구활용, 문제해결, 비판적 사고가, 감성적 체험 단계에서는 협동과 의사소통이 선정되었다. 하지만 실제 프로그램은 이러한 핵심역량 강조가 미흡하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서는 STEAM 학습준거 단계에 대한 이해와 이에 따른 핵심역량의 중요성 강조 및 STEAM 학습준거 단계별 핵심역량에 대한 추가적인 연구의 필요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to confirm that STEAM programs developed by STEAM research school teachers were developed with emphasis on core competencies. And we selected core competencies, which must be reflected in accordance with STEAM learning criterion, and compared the core competencies actually reflected and the selected core competencies. Of the 268 programs developed at the STEAM research school in 2015, 10 programs by school class were selected. The results of this study are as follows: First, the core competencies presented in the programs were not significantly different by school level. Critical thinking and problem solving abilities were less reflected, and core competencies of thoughtfulness and responsibility were hardly reflected. Second, the core competencies that must be reflected in the situation presentation stage are creative thinking and communication, in creative design stage are utilization of convergence tools, problem solving and critical thinking. In emotional experience stage, collaboration and communication is the key. However, these are somewhat different from the core competencies selected by professional teacher group. So we suggest that the importance of understanding the STEAM learning criterion, and the importance of core competencies by STEAM learning criterion. In addition, the need of further research on core competencies according to the STEAM learning criterion is required.
