영문 초록

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the level of disaster preparedness, safety control, and disaster nursing competency and investigate the factors affecting disaster nursing competency among Korean nurses. Method : Participants comprised 294 nurses recruited from six general hospitals in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon provinces from December 12 to December 29, 2020. Measurement tools of Park‘s disaster preparedness, Park’s disaster nursing competency, and Jung’s safety control were used. Responses of participants were collected through Google survey form. Results : The mean score of disaster preparedness, safety control, and disaster nursing competence were 3.25 (± 0.71), 3.72 (± 0.60), and 3.39 (± 0.63) out of 5 points. Disaster preparedness (β＝.64, p＜.001), safety control (β＝.03 p＜.001), and disaster education included in the bachelor’ curriculum (β＝.06, p＝.028) affected disaster nursing competency, which explained 73.2% of the variance. Conclusion : Since the disaster education in the undergraduate curriculum affected the disaster nursing competency, it is essential for nursing schools to enforce the curriculum to provide the nursing students with disaster nursing competency. Nursing supervisors also need to train competent nurses to respond to a disaster situation in the nursing field.
