공관복음서의 어린이에 관한 예수말씀을 통해서 본 “어린이 신학 ”의 과제

국문 초록

이 논문은 오늘날 부상하고 있는 ‘어린이 신학’의 성서적 기초가 되는 예수님의 어린이에 관한 말씀, 특별히 사람들이 어린이를 예수님께 데리고 왔을 때(막, 마, 눅), 그리고 제자들이 서로 누가 큰가에 대한 토론을 벌이고 있을 때(마, 막, 눅), 예수님이 하신 말씀에 관한 연구를 통해 어린이 신학의 성격과 과제를 살펴본 논문이다. 연구는 본문으로부터 다음 과 같은 점들을 발견하였다. 첫째, 본문들 속에 나타나는 ‘어린이의 속성’은 우리가 일반적으로 생각하게 되는 ‘죄 없음’, ‘순결함’, ‘때 묻지 않음’, 혹은 ‘신뢰감’과 같은 어떤 자격이나 조건이 아니라, 오히려 그들의 ‘약하고(weak)’, ‘도움이 필요한(helpless)’ 상태, ‘능력 없음’의 상태를 지칭하고 있다는 것이다. 둘째, 본문들 속에서 보이는 예수님의 어린이에 대한 태도는 어린이를 ‘조건 없는 환영(welcoming)’, ‘하나님 나라의 속성’과 ‘하나님 나라에 들어가기’를 가르치는 모범으로 삼음’, 그리고 ‘어린이를 자신의 대리자로 선포하면서, 어린이를 우리의 사랑과 배려에 위탁함’이다. 셋째, 본문이 우리에게 지시하는 바의 것은 무엇보다 ‘하나님 나라가 우리 가운데 있고, 예수님이 우리 가운데에 있다’는 것이다. 또한 본문은 우리에게 세상적 기준으로는 예측할 수 없는 형태로 오는 ‘하나님 나라’를 영접함으로써, 그 나라에 들어갈 것과, 세상에서 큰자가 되기보다는 어린이와 같이 뭇 사람의 끝이 되면 섬기는 자가 될 것을 지시한다. 더 나아가 본문은 우리가 우리 사회의 네트워킹에서 낮은 자의 대명사인 어린이, 그리고 어린이에 비견되는 우리 사회의 낮은 자를 환대하고 사랑의 배려를 할 것을 지시하고 있다. 이와 같은 분문 연구를 바탕으로 본고는 어린이 신학에 대한 다음과 같은 통찰을 얻었다. 첫째 예수님이 본문을 통해 보여준 ‘어린이 신학하기’는, 오늘날 어린이 신학의 일차적 과제가 어린이를 시의적절하게 신학적으로 해석하고 해명하는 것이라고 하는 통찰을 준다. 둘째 예수님의 어린이 신학은 오늘날 어린이 신학이 단순히 어린이에 관한 신학으로 만 머무는 것이 아니라, 기독교 신앙과 신학의 핵심적 문제들을 ‘어린이’라고 하는 관점을 바탕으로 해명함으로써 그것들을 더욱 풍성하게 하는 과제를 가졌다는 것이며, 그렇게 볼 때 어린이신학도 다른 여타의 기독교신학들과 공통적 과제를 공유하고 있다고 할 수 있다. 셋째, 예수님의 어린이에 대한 환영, 치유, 축복은 오늘날 어린이 신학이 단순히 신학적 성찰을 하는 것에 머무는 신학이 아니라, 행동하는 신학이요, 실천하는 신학이어야 한다는 통찰을 우리에게 준다. 넷째, 예수님이 어린이와 자신을 동일시하면서 낮아짐으로써, 진정 큰 자의 전형이 되신 것처럼, 어린이 신학을 하는 사람 자체가 예수님처럼 세상에서 큰 자가 되려하기 보다는 어린이와 같이 뭇사람의 끝이 되며, 모든 사람을 섬기는 자가 됨으로써 실현된다는 것을 보여준다. 이와 같은 통찰들은 결국 ‘어린이신학하기’가 그 무엇보다 예수님이 보여주신 ‘어린이신학하기’ 패러다임을 닮아가고 따라가는 것을 통해 구현될 수 있음을 보여주는 것이라고 하겠다.

영문 초록

This thesis is a study on the nature and tasks of the ‘theology of children’, which is a recently emerging issue. The Biblical basis for the ‘theology of children’ can be found in Jesus’ words about children. Jesus’ reaction to the children who were brought to him to be blessed (Mark 10:13-16, Matt 19:13-15, Luck 18:15-17), and his words to the disciples who were arguing about who was the greatest (Mark 9:33-37 Matth 18:1-5 Luck 9:46-48) are particularly illuminating. We can elucidate the following from Jesus’ reaction and words: first, the ‘nature of the child’ in these texts is not the condition or qualification like ‘innocent’, ‘purity’, but their objective conditions like ‘helplessness’, ‘weakness’ and ‘being in need’;. second, Jesus’ attitudes toward the children in these texts were ‘unconditionally welcoming’, ‘taking an example for teaching about Kingdom of God and entrance into it’, and ‘declaring as his representative’ and ‘putting them in trust to our love and caring’; third, these texts state that the ‘Kingdom of God’ is among us, and that we can enter into the Kingdom which is coming in unanticipated ways by accepting it. The text suggests that we should strive to serve in humility, rather than competing for accolades of greatness, and that there is meaning and value in taking care of children and those with childlike qualities of vulnerability and diminished social stature. we have to be the last as the serving people rather than the greatest in the world and have hospitality, love and care to children and people like children belong to the smallest in our social networking. Further analysis of the text provides the following insights about the ‘theology of child’ : firstly, Jesus’ doing theology of children in these texts give the insight that one of the significant tasks of the theology of child is to interpret and elucidate the child theologically;. seconddly, Jesus’s theology of children also gives us insight that ‘theology of children’ does not have to stay only as theology about child, but have to accomplish the task to explicate the significant themes in theology through the aspect of child. In this sense, ‘theology of children’ have also the common interest and tasks with the other areas in theology; thirdly, Jesus’ healing, blessing, and welcoming attitude toward children suggests that the ‘theology of children’ does not have to focus only on theological reflection, but also on doing and manifestation of practicing the theology; lastly, Jesus became the paradigm of the real great one by identifying himself with children. This indicates that one who does practices the ‘theology of children’ should aspire to be the greatest by being the last of all and unafraid to be humble and in the position of serving person of all. To sum up, doing ‘theology of children’ can be realized by following Jesus’ paradigm of doing theology of child.
