국문 초록

연구목적: 장애아동 양육시설에서 성장한 뇌성마비 대학생의 성장배경을 알아보기 위하여 구술 생애사 연구로 수행하였다. 연구방법: 연구 참여자는 초등특수교육과 4학년에 재학중인 뇌성마비 대학생이었다. 연구자는 연구 참여자와 1주일에 한 번씩 만나서 5회의 개별 면담으로 진행하였다. 반구조화 질문지를 활용하여 5개의 질문에 대한 구술 내용을 정리하였다. 연구결과: 부모에 대한 기억은 없었으며, 성장한 요양원과 재활원에 감사하는 마음을 가지고 있었다. 보육교사를 부모처럼 생각하면서 성장하였으며, 특수교사의 전문성 및 도움으로 자아정체성과 초등특수교사의 꿈을 가지게 되었다. 대학교 입학 후의 학업에 대한 어려움은 본인의 의지로 극복하였으며, 동기생 및 선후배와의 소통을 통하여 좋은 특수교사가 되기 위한 계기를 확고하게 만들어 갈 수 있었다. 대학교에서의 친구와 맺었던 우정과 사회 및 국가의 지원 등으로 미래의 자유를 보다 현실화할 수 있었음을 회고하였다. 결론: 보육교사 및 특수교사의 역할과 사명감 등에 따라서 뇌성마비 학생의 미래가 달라질 수 있음을 이 연구에서는 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study describes the oral life history of a student with severe and multiple disabilities who grew up in facilities for children with disabilities. Method: Participant was a college student with severe and multiple disabilities who was currently enrolled in the 4th grade. The researcher met with the participant once a week and conducted five individual interviews. Semi-structured questionnaires were used to organize the answers to five questions. Results: He had no memory of his parents, and he was grateful for nursing homes and rehabilitation center. The childcare teacher grew up thinking as a parent, and with the specialty and help of the special teacher, he became a self-identity teacher and dreamed of being a elementary special teacher. After entering university, the difficulties in studying were overcome by his own will, and through communication with his friends and juniors/seniors, he made the opportunity for a good special teacher to succeed. He recalled that he was able to make the freedom of the future a reality through friendships with friends at the university and support from the society and the country. Conclusion: This study suggests that the future of student with severe and multiple disabilities may vary depending on the role of childcare teachers and special teachers through their lifetime history.
