국문 초록

신체가 자기신뢰감이나 정체성 형성에 결정적인 영향을 미치게 되는 청소년기에 소녀들의 성정체성 발달은 소년들과는 다른 양상을 보인다. 소녀들은 사회의 시선에 의해 규정된 신체의식으로 자신의 신체와 불화하게 되고, 여성의 성역할에 대한 사회의 낮은 평가로 성역할 동일시를 통해 자기신뢰감을 충분히 발전시키기 어렵다. 특히 지체부자유 소녀들은 그들의 신체조건과 사회 환경으로부터의 고립으로 성정체성을 발달시키는 것이 더욱 어렵다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지체부자유 소녀들의 성정체성 발달을 제어하는 사회적, 심리적 요인들을 조명해보고 그들이 스티그마에 대응하여 자신의 정체성을 보호하고 발전시켜 나갈 수 있도록 하기 위해서 어떤 교육적 지원이 이루어져야 하는지 논의하였다. 사회에서 요구하는, 미학적 아름다움과 완벽한 신체기능을 보유한 이상적‘성적 표준’과 사회규범에 의해 각인된 협애한 성역할 구분은 그들의 정체성을 위협한다. 지체부자유 소녀들의 성정체성 발달을 위해서는 그들의 성별특성을 고려한 교육적 지원이 요구된다.

영문 초록

In the adolescence phase, the development of sexual identity of girls show different patterns compared with those of boys. The girls who got the objectified body consciousness may experience disharmonious body of self, and may not be able to establish self-reliance due to poor estimation on gender roles of female. Particularly, girls with physical disabilities in their adolescence phase may experience harder to develop sexual identity and to accept gender roles, because of the physical condition of self as an aspect of the world. Based on this rationale, I elucidated psycho-social factors that influence over the development of sexual identity and gender role of girls with physical disabilities and discussed the educational strategy that could help them to protect and develope their identity against stigma. The primary appreciation of one’s own body may be easily disturbed when we are in the company of others who make us aware of the abnormality of body. Girls with physical disabilities are under threat from the standardization of fixed notion on gender roles. Therefore, educational supports, based on sexual difference, are quite necessary for the development of sexual identity of girls with physical disabilities.
