국문 초록

이 연구는 제5차 한국장애인고용패널자료를 활용하여 지체장애인, 뇌병변장애인, 그리고 지적장애인의 여러 특성들에 관해 알아보기 위해 진행되었다. 2,180명의 지체, 432명의 뇌병변, 그리고 189명의 지적장애인 모두 4,297명에 대해 삶의 만족도, 삶의 질, 그리고 이런 만족 수준을 각종 정부 서비스와 임상실천 상의 서비스전달 과정에서 나타날 수 있는 이슈들과 결부시켜 분석하였다. 연구분석 결과 지적장애인 집단은 동료관계와 대인관계에 관해 다른 두 장애집단에 비해 만족감을 충분히 느끼지 못하고 있었다. 그러나 지적장애인들이 결혼상태에 대해서는 지체장애와 뇌병변장애의 다른 두 집단의 장애인들에 비해 더욱 높게 만족감을 표시하고 있었다. 경제적 측면의 수입과 관련하여서는 지체장애인 집단이 다른 두 장애집단에 비해 더욱 높은 만족감을 보였는데, 이런 연구결과들은 장애인 삶의 질과 주관적 생활만족감을 향상시키기 위해 개별적이고 다양한 형태의 서비스전달 모형과 태도가 요구된다는 점을 보여준다. 앞으로 우리나라 장애인 교육서비스와 재활서비스는 소비자의 관점에서 고도로 계획되고 개별적인 형태로 제공될 필요가 있다는 점을 시사한다. 특히, 삶의 질은 사회 속에서 살아 가는 과정상 송통 정도와 개인과 가족 기능의 향상을 매개로 높아 질 수 있는데, 개별 장애인의 독특한 욕구, 희망, 상황, 잠재력과 장점에 바탕을 둔 효과적인 프로그램이 더욱 개발되고 임상실천 현장에서 전문가에 의해 제공될 때 서비스 이익의 극대화와 정부 재정의 효율성을 기할 수 있다는 교훈을 우리 모두에게 던지고 있다.

영문 초록

This study was developed using data from the South Korean Government survey of select and registered persons with disabilities. There are 15 recognized groups of persons with disabilities however the data for this study utilizes three of the primary groups. Data was filtered to include persons with physical disability, brain lesions, and intellectual disability, and to investigate characteristics associated with satisfaction and subjective quality of life in the context of rehabilitation policies and service delivery. Descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and ANOVAs were utilized upon study variables including interpersonal relationships, marriage, leisure activities, and income of research participants. Two thousand eight hundred and one persons with disabilities among a total of 4,297 panel data were analyzed; 2,180 persons with physical disability, 432 persons with brain lesions, and 189 persons with intellectual disability. The data informs us that the group of persons with intellectual disabilities is less satisfied with peer relations and interpersonal relations compared to other disability groups. However, the degree to which research participants with intellectual disability are satisfied with their marital status was much higher than the other two groups. In terms of their income, those with physical disabilities are the highest among the three groups. The results of this study indicate that persons with disability require different policy approaches and strategies to improve their quality of life. However, persons with intellectual disability respond rather passively to each survey questionnaire item when compared to other persons with disabilities. Individualized and specialized service preparations and training upon the clients’ strength-based frameworks are paramount for rehabilitation field practitioners and their consumers, maximizing service benefits. Services need to be based upon users’ unique needs, situation, and wishes. In conclusion it is necessary to plan and devise an effective program for each individual with disability who needs various services based upon the consumers’ perspective.
