국문 초록

이 연구는 어린시절 사립초등학교 재학 경험이 현재 자신의 삶, 그리고 공립초등학교 교사로서 삶을 살아가는데 미친 영향과 의미가 무엇이었는지를 이해하기 위해 실시하였다. 이를 위해 자전적 내러티브 탐구를 활용하였다. 여기서 ‘나’란 존재는 연구자이며 동시에 참여자이다. 나는 나의 경험적 의미를 탐색하기 위해 과거 이미지 회상 및 기억자료 진술, 그리고 연구자의 초등학교 시절 경험을 공유하는 어머니, 같은 학교에 다녔던 동생과 지인, 6학년 때 담임선생님 등과 인터뷰를 통해 자료를 수집함으로써, 연구의 타당성을 확보하고자 했다. 연구자료에 대해 내러티브 3차원 도구 중, 학교와 집이라는 공간적 의미를 중심으로 현장텍스트를 분석하였고, 연구텍스트를 진술하였다. 연구 결과, 나의 이야기는 아이의 눈에서 교사의 눈으로 바라보게 된, 다른 두 개의 공간 속에 담지되어 있던 계층 구조의 이질성을 마주하게 했고, 그사이에 희미하게 이어져 있던 길을 보여주었다. 그 과정에서, 나는 삶에 대한 나의 획일적인 사회-계층적 시각의 한계를 느낄 수 있었다. 그에 따라, 나는 개인으로서 교사로서 관계적 역할 인식의 변화가 필요함을 자각하게 되었다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to understand the influence and meaning of the experience of attending a private elementary school as a child on the current personal life and life as a public elementary school teacher. To this end, the authors adopted an autobiographical narrative inquiry. Here, “I” is both a researcher and participant. In order to search for my experiential meaning, I recalled past images, collected statements of memory data, and interviewed 4 people who shared the researcher’s elementary school experience, a mother, a younger brother and a friend who attended the same school, and a teacher of my 6th grade class. These are the attempt to validate the research. As for the research data, the field text was analyzed centering on the spatial meaning of school and home among the three-dimensional narrative inquiry space, and the research text was stated. The result of the study helped me confront the different nature in the hierarchical structure of the other two spaces, viewed in the perspectives of a child then and a teacher now. It also showed me a road loosely connected between them. In the process, I was able to feel the limits of my monolithic social-hierarchical view of life. Accordingly, I became aware of the need for changes in the perception on relational roles as an individual and as a teacher.
