가설적 사고 장려를 위한 유아교육 전공 대학원생의 삼단논법 활용에 대한 질적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육 전공 대학원생들의 가설적 사고를 장려하기 위해 삼단논법을 활용할 수 있는 홀리스틱 교육적 실천방안을 제안하였다. 연구자는 2016년도부터 2019년도 사이, 4개 대학의 대학원에서 5개의 유아교육 강좌를 담당하였고 강좌를 수강한 총 54명의 대학원생은 삼단논법 과제물을 제출하였다. 본 연구에서는 이렇게 수집된 문서 162부의 과제물에서 대개념, 중개념, 소개념, 대전제 명제, 소전제 명제 등 삼단논법의 주요 요소들이 어떻게 활용될 수 있는지 분석하였고 삼단논법에 포함될 수 있는 명제 및 개념의 유용성을 제시하였다. 또한, 대학원생에게 삼단논법 과제물 수행 경험을 문서로 작성토록 하여 삼단논법에 대한 이들의 인식을 살펴보았다. 대학원 수업에서 삼단논법이 활용되기 위해서는 주요 요소들의 구성과 관계를 명시적으로 다루고 흔히 범하는 오류를 피할 수 있도록 하는 교수자의 적절한 역할이 필수불가결함이 드러났다. 타당하게 구성된 삼단논법의 결론 명제는 연구가설의 기능을 하여 유아교육 현장의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 학술적 발판이 될 수 있으므로 삼단논법 활용의 가능성을 제안하는 바이다.

영문 초록

A combination of procedural knowledge and scientific concepts can make it possible for early childhood teachers to transfer and apply their previous knowledge to practical problem solving. This study suggests one possible scenario that may play out in graduate level early childhood teacher education programs; that is, utilizing syllogism to develop teachers’ abilities to think theoretically. Specifically, this study analyzed 162 documents produced by 54 graduate students who were certified as teachers. By identifying regular patterns that were revealed when their own syllogisms were designed, this study was able to develop an outline of instructional materials that can be included in graduate school coursework. In the process of incorporating structural elements such as the major, minor, and middle terms as well as the major and minor premises, graduate students may engage in activities that require abstract classification, categorization, and deriving inferences. When a graduate student is able to draw a valid conclusion, derived from key elements of syllogism, it is possible to say that he or she might be able to build up hypotheses and put them into practice in the early childhood education field.
