국문 초록

욥기는 의인의 고통을 주제로 전개된다. 욥기는 욥을 ‘흠도 없고, 올곧으며, 하느님을 경외하고, 악을 멀리하는 사람’으로 묘사한다(1,1.8; 2,3). 그런 그가 고통을 겪게 된다. 그 고통의 시작점을 욥기는 사탄과 하느님의 내기에서 시작되었음을 알려주고, 신심 깊은 욥을 시험하는 기준인, ‘의미 없이’와 ‘가죽은 가죽으로’가 사탄에 의해서 제기된다. 욥은 하느님을 향한 자신의 신심과 신앙, 신뢰가 사탄이 제시한 기준의 그것과는 다르다는 것을 증명하면서 고통 가운데 ‘나의 구원자가 살아계심’을 고백한다(욥 19,25). 본고의 핵심 개념이 되는 고엘은 욥기에서 단 한 번 언급된다. 욥기에서 유일회적으로 언급된 ‘고엘’은 욥기에서 어떠한 의미로 사용되었으며, 그가 고백한 고엘은 누구를 의미하는지에 따라서 전체 욥기를 이해하는 중요한 열쇠가 된다. 고엘은 구약 성경의 가족법에서 유래하며, 고엘의 동사 lag은 저당 잡힌 사물 혹은 토지를 되찾아주거나, 빚으로 인해서 노예가 된 사람을 위해서 몸값을 치르고 해방하는 행위를 의미한다. 고엘은 동사 lag의 분사형으로 형제, 친척 혹은 혈족을 대신해서 그의 권리를 보호해주는 사람을 지칭한다. 또한 고엘의 용법은 유배 이후에 이르러서 하느님이 고엘로 언급되면서(이사 41,14; 49,6.26;52,3) 하느님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 베푸신 구원 행위를 지칭하기도 한다. 이러한 관점에서 욥이 고백한 고엘은 하느님이다. 비록 본문은 고엘의 신원에 대하여 명확하게 밝히고 있지 않지만, 구약 성경에서 고엘이 하느님의 통치으로 사용되었다는 사실(시편 19,15; 78,35; 이사 41,8-14; 43,1; 44,6), 욥 19장의 문학적 장르가 탄원 시편의 구조와 유사하다는 사실, 그리고 마지막으로 욥기에 내재된 신앙의 변증법적 특징은 ‘고통을 허락하시는 하느님’과 ‘고통을 거두어주시는 하느님’이라는 하느님의 역설적이고 모순적인 상을 제공하면서 욥기의 신학에 다가갈 수 있도록 이끌어준다. 욥은 고엘-메타퍼를 사용하여, 하느님을 자신의 가족으로 바라보고, 고엘의 고백과 함께 품었던 원의, ‘하느님을 보리라’(19,26-27)는 그의 희망과 잃었던 재산과 건강의 회복이 욥기의 마지막에 이르러 실현된다(42,5.10-17). 욥은 하느님을 고엘로 고백하면서 하느님의 구체적이고 직접적인 구원을 체험한다. 욥기는 욥의 고백 ‘나의 구원자’(ylag)를 통해서 구체적이고 실제적인 구원이 하느님 안에서 가능함을 고엘의 유일회적인 언급으로 이뤄낸다.

영문 초록

The Book of JOB is unfolded by the theme of pain. It describes Job as to ‘blameless (faultless) and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil’ (Job 1,1.8; 2,3) Such a man went through pains. The Book of JOB pointed out that it has started from the bet between God and Satan, and its criteria those of ‘for nothing’ and ‘skin for skin’ was proposed by Satan. Job proved that his fidelity, piety, and trust are different from Satan’s proposed criteria, and he confessed ‘my Vindicator lives’ within pains (Job 19,25). Goel, the focusing concept of this study, is mentioned only once in the Book of JOB. How Goel, mentioned only once, is used and who is the confessed Goel are the important keys to understand the Book of JOB. Goel is derived from the family law in the Old Testament. The verb ‘lag’ of Goel means that to retrieve collateral things/lands, and to redeem and free an enslaved man due to debts. Goel is a participle form of verb ‘lag’. It designates a man who protects the rights instead of siblings, relatives or blood relatives. Also, the method of Goel is mentioned as to God after exile (Is. 41,14; 49,6.26; 52,3), and it is called as to God’s salvation for Israel People. Such a viewpoint, Goel, who Job has confessed, is God. Although, the text didn’t disclose clearly the identity of Goel, but considering the facts that Goel is used as to God’s reign in the Old Testament (Psalm 19,15; 78,35; Is. 41,8-14; 43,1; 44,6), the fact that the literary genre of the Book of JOB Chapter 19 is similar to petition Psalm and the dialectical characteristic of the piety in the Book of JOB offer God’s paradoxical and contradictory image which ‘permit pain’ and ‘carry in pain’. All these facts lead to the theology of the Book of JOB. Job, using Goel-metaphor, looked God as to his family member. The original intention which was laid in his Goel confession ‘I shall see God’ (Job 19,26-27) has finally realized by restoring his hope, lost prosperity and health. (Job 42,5.10-17) Job confessed God as to Goel and has experienced God’s definite and concrete salvation. The Book of JOB achieved that the concrete and practical salvation is possible in God through Job’s confession ‘my Vindicator’ (ylag), which was mentioned only one time.
