TV 드라마를 통해 본 경호원 이미지에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 2010년 이후 방영된 TV 드라마 중 경호원 직업을 가진 주인공이 등장하는 3개의 작품을 선정하여 2012년 이후 꾸준한 연구가 진행되고 있는 ‘휴먼이미지디자인’의 이론에 근거하여 경호원의 이미지를 분석하였다. 3개의 작품은 다음과 같다. 2012년 조정석 주연의 <더 킹 투 하츠>, 2014년 박유천 주연의 <쓰리 데이즈>,’ 2020년 우도환 주연의 <더 킹: 영원의 군주>이다. <더 킹 투 하츠>에서 조정석의 가시적 이미지는 리젠트컷 헤어스타일과 신체적 조건이 갖춰진 사람만 입을 수 있는 황실 근위부대 제복 스타일을 멋지게 소화하고 있다. 비가시적 이미지에서는 육사 장교 출신의 엘리트적 업무수행의 모습에서 담대함, 충성심, 온유함으로 나타나고 있다. <쓰리 데이즈>에서 박유천의 가시적 이미지는 전형적인 공직자를 연상시키는 헤어스타일과 어두운색 정장을 착장하여 매우 단정하고 반듯한 이미지를 연출하고 있다. 비가시적 이미지는 빈틈없는 업무수행을 하는 모습에서 철저함, 충성심, 정의감으로 나타났다. <더 킹: 영원의 군주>에서 우도환의 가시적 이미지는 포마드 헤어스타일과 블랙 슈트 스타일을 보이고 있다. 비가시적 이미지는 황제를 지켜낼 수 있다는 믿음을 가지고 업무를 수행하는 모습에서 정의감, 책임감, 신중함으로 나타났다. 위의 분석 결과 경호원의 가시적 이미지는 헤어라인을 깔끔하게 정돈한 스타일, 제복 스타일, 단색 슈트 스타일은 화려하지는 않지만 절제되고 단정한 이미지로 표현되었으며, 비가시적 이미지는 담대함, 충성심, 온유함, 철저함, 정의감, 책임감, 신중함 등이 표현되었다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 제한점을 가진다. 첫째, 세 편의 TV 드라마를 연구대상으로 선정하였기에 본 결과를 일반화하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 둘째, 최근 10년 동안 방영된 작품들을 연구하였기에 시대성을 반영하지 못했다는 한계가 있다. 셋째, 경호원 이미지에 영향을 주는 다른 요인들도 있으나, 본 연구에서는 가시적 이미지와 비가시적 이미지를 중심으로 연구가 이루어져 외부 환경적인 요인에 대한 접근과 분석에는 분명한 한계를 가진다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed bodyguards’ images based on ‘human image design’ which was studied after selecting three TV series in which the main actor was a bodyguard and were aired in 2012 or later. The three series selected were ‘The King 2 Hearts (2012, starring Jo Jung-suk),’ ‘Three Days (2014, starring Park Yoo-chun),’ and ‘The King Eternal Monarch (2020, starring Woo Do-hwan).’ In ‘The King 2 Hearts,’ Jo Jung-suk displayed a contemporary haircut and cool royal guard uniform styles that look good only for those with decent physical fitness. In terms of non-visual characteristics, he showed boldness, loyalty, and gentleness as an elite military officer. In ‘Three Days,’ on the contrary, Park Yoo-chun had a typical public official’s hairstyle and wore a dark suit, creating a tidy and upright image. Regarding non-visual characteristics, he unveiled completeness, loyalty, and righteousness, while handing his jobs dutifully and meticulously. In ‘The King Eternal Monarch,’ lastly, Woo Do-hwan had a classic pomade hairstyle and wore a black suit. In terms of non-visual characteristics, he demonstrated righteousness, responsibility, and prudence, while dutifully fulfilling his obligations believing that he could guard and protect the king. According to the above analysis, a bodyguard’s visual images can include formal hairstyles, uniforms, and solid color suits, which generate modest and tidy appearances. In terms of non-visual characteristics, boldness, loyalty, gentleness, completeness, righteousness, responsibility, and prudence were expressed. However, this study has the following limitations. First, since only three TV series were chosen and analyzed, there are limitations in generating the results. Second, as they were aired on TV over the past decade, they are limited in reflecting historical aspects. Third, even though other factors are affecting a bodyguard’s image, this study primarily examined visual and non-visual aspects only, it shows clear limitations in terms of the approach and analysis of external factors.
