제주다움에 비춰본 영주십경

국문 초록

영주십경(瀛洲十景)은 조선 후기 제주의 향토학자이던 매계(梅溪) 이한우(李漢雨, 1818~181)가 손꼽은 제주섬의고유 풍토 성 짙은 경관 정체성 을 표출하는 10 경관으로 화산섬 이라는 독특한 지형학적 특성, 온대와 아열대의 전이지대라 따뜻한 기후적 특성, 섬이라는 해양문화적 특성, 몽골강점 이후 군마공급지와 신선의 고장이라는 역사문화적 배경 속에 탄생되었다. 여기서는 우리나라 경관문화의 모델이 되는 소상팔경(瀟湘八景) 이나 관 관동팔경(關東八景) 등을 살펴보고 그것들이 영주십경에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 살펴보았다. 제주에는 매 계의 영주 십 경 이전에도 야계(治溪) 이익태(李益泰 16~170)의 탐라 십경과 응와(擬簡) 이 원죄(李源祚1792~1871)의 영주 십 경 등이 있지만 매 계의 영주 십 경은 그것들보다 체계적이고 제주 섬의 정체성을 잘 드러낸다. 영주 십 경에는 많은 서사적 요소가 있고 그것들을 예술적으로 승화시킨 시, 서예, 그림, 음악 등이 더러 있지만 아직도 많이 부족하다. 그렇기 때문에 제주다움을 잘 보여주는 영주 십 경을 널리 알리기 위해서는 상 팔경과 관동팔경의 경우처럼 영주 십 경을 소재로 한 보다 더 많은, 서예, 그림, 사진 등이 나와야 하고 영주십경에 대한 인문학적 구명(究明)이 필요하다.

영문 초록

From ancient times East Asians have believed Taoist hermits live in Yeong ju(瀛州) have been longing for going there. Yeongju is the Jeju island s nickname. Yeong jusipkyeong(瀛州十景) means the 10 historic famous sceneries in Jeju Island. Yeongjusipkyeong was selected by Jeju local scholar Maekye Yi Han-u(梅溪 李漢雨, 1818~1881). And it was created because of the unique topographical characteristics, the warm temperate climatic characteristics, the maritime cultural characteristics, and the place where military horse breeding and Taoist hermits live. Sosangpalkyeong (the 8 historic famous sceneries of Hsiao and Hsiang in Chian) Kwandongpalkyeong(the 8 historic famous sceneries of Eastern Korea) have been looked at as the models for our scenery culture. This paper examined whether they had any effect on the Yeongjusipkyeong. There were Tamlasipkyeong by Yakyeo Yi Ik-tae(治溪 李益泰, 1633~1704) and Yeongjusipkyeong by Eungwa Yi Won -jo 李源祚, 1792~1871) before the Yeongjusipkyeong by Maekye Yi Han-u in Jeju Island. However, the latter is much better organized and reveals the identity of Jeju island than the formers. Yeongjusipkyeong contains the beautiful natural scenes, and the humanistic narrative elements, and there are poems, calligraphic works, paintings, music works, etc. on it. But they are far smaller numbers than on the artworks of Sosangpalkyeong or Kwandongpalkyeong. Therefore, more artworks for Yeongjusipkyeong should be producted. And about the humanities research is needed.
