결혼이주여성의 가족 해체 경험과 지원 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 이혼 및 별거, 배우자 사망 등으로 다문화가족의 해체가 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 상황에서 가족 형성에서부터 결혼생활, 가족의 해체, 해체 이후의 어려움, 정책 욕구에 이르기까지 가족 해체 과정에 대한 결혼이주여성의 경험을 심층적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 부산지역에 거주하는 결혼이주여성 18명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 이러한 인터뷰 내용을 토대로 결혼이주여성들의 해체 경험을 분석하였다. 결혼이주여성들은 배우자에 대한 충분한 정보를 갖지 못한 채, 막연한 기대를 가지고 결혼생활을 시작함에 따라 갈등을 내재하게 되었다. 남편과의 소통 문제, 남편의 경제적 무능, 일과 양육의 이중부담, 남편의 음주와 폭행, 시집 식구들의 통제와 무시, 나아가 폭언과 폭행은 더 이상 결혼생활을 지속할 수 없는 요인으로 작용했다. 해체 이후에도 결혼이주여성들은 여전히 일과 양육의 부담을 져야 했고 경제적 빈곤에서도 벗어나기 어려웠다. 뿐만 아니라 심리, 정서적으로 매우 취약한 상태이고 가족 해체로 인한 네트워크 단절과 사회의 차별적 시선 또한 견뎌야 했다. 결혼이주여성들은 이러한 다양한 어려움에도 불구하고 자녀와 함께 한국에서 살기를 기대하고 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 가족 해체를 경험한 결혼이주여성과 그 자녀가 보다 안정적인 삶을 살 수 있도록 지원하기 위한 현실적인 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the experiences of marriage immigrant women in the process of family dissolution, from family formation to marriage, family dissolution, difficulties after dissolution, and policy needs. For this purpose, 18 marriage immigrant women residing in Busan were selected as research participants and conducted interviews. Marriage immigrant women do not have enough information about their spouses and are in conflict as they begin their marriage with vague expectations. Problems of communication with her husband, economic incompetence, double burden of work and nurture, her drinking and assault, control and neglect of her husband s family members, and verbal abuse and violence were no longer able to sustain marriage. After family dissolution, the migrant women still had to bear the burden of work and nurture, and it was difficult to escape economic poverty. In addition, psychologically and emotionally vulnerable, the dismantling of the network due to family dissolution and the discriminatory gaze of society were to be endured. Marriage immigrant women were expected to live in Korea with their children despite these various difficulties. Therefore, this study suggested a realistic way to support a married immigrant woman and her children who have experienced family dissolution to live a more stable life.
