항공사 객실승무원이 지각한 안전 분위기가 안전 동기와 안전행동에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 항공사 객실승무원이 지각한 안전 분위기가 안전행동에 미치는 영향관계를 안전 동기의 매개효과를 통하여 분석하는 것이다. 연구방법은 팀제를 시행하고 있는 대한항공 객실승무원을 대상으로 2019년 3월부터 4월까지 총 330부의 설문을 배포한 후 312부를 SPSS의 통계기법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 객실승무원이 지각하는 안전 분위기는 안전 동기에 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 구체적으로 경영자가치, 팀리더 가치, 팀원 간 의사소통은 안전동기에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는데, 영향력은 팀원 간 의사소통, 경영자가치, 팀리더 가치 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 안전 동기는 안전행동을 촉진하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 객실승무원이 지각한 안전 분위기 중 경영자가치와 팀원 간 의사소통은 안전행동에 정(+)의 유의미한 영향을 주나, 팀리더 가치는 안전행동에 부(-)의 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 안전 동기는 안전 분위기와 안전행동을 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 안전 동기는 경영자가치와 안전행동관계 및 팀원 간 의사소통과 안전행동만을 매개하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 팀리더의 가치는 개별적으로 안전행동에 유의미한 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 시사점은 객실승무원의 안전행동을 촉진하는 기제가 무엇인지를 통합적으로 파악하여 안전사고를 예방할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다는 것이다. 구체적으로 경영자는 안전에 대한 가치를 최상으로 하는 경영방침을 지속적으로 유지하고, 팀제를 수행하는 객실조직에서는 팀 리더는 팀원들이 안전에 대한 의사소통이 가능한 긍정적인 안전 분위기 조성을 통해 안전 동기를 유발하여야 한다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects perceived of flight attendants’ safety climate(MV: management’s value, LV: team leader’s value, TC: team member’s communication) on safety behavior. Particularly, it focuses on the mediating effects of safety motivation on the relationship between safety climate and safety behavior. The study was conducted by surveying a total of 330 Korean Airlines flight attendants between the period of March to April 2019, of which 312 refined data were finally collected to perform frequency analysis, reliability analysis and factor analysis using the SPSS Program. The results are as follows: Firstly, safety climate(MV, LV, TC) can exert a significant effect on an individual’s safety motivation. Secondly, a high safety motivation can increase safety behavior. Thirdly, MV and TC has a positive effect on safety behavior whereas LV has a negative effect on safety behavior. Lastly safety motivation was found to be a partial mediator between safety climate and safety behavior; as it only proved to be a key mediator between MV and safety behavior, or TC and safety behavior. These results can ultimately contribute to an understanding of the important factors to prevent or minimize safety accidents in the cabin. More specifically, airline top management has to place value in prioritizing its safety policy, whilst the team leader has to provide a positive safety climate where team members can freely discuss safety concern in order to increase safety motivation.
