국문 초록

이 연구는 ‘세운재정비촉진지구’를 ‘청계천-을지로 산업생태계’로 재인식시킨 도시사회운동의 저항 방식과 그 활동의 중요한 조건이 되었던 활동가들의 경험을 해명하고자 했다. 이를 위해 현장기록과 활동 과정에서 생산된 문서들을 기본적인 문헌자료로 수집했고, 9명의 활동가들을 대상으로 서면인터뷰 방식의 자기민속지를 진행했다. 이 운동은 도시재생으로 도시관리의 프레임이 전환되었음에도 불구하고, 재개발을 추진하려 하는 정치권력에 대항해 재개발 중단을 요구했다. 하지만 단순히 재개발 반대를 외치는 것이 아니라, 역사적·산업적·문화적 가치가 있는 산업생태계를 보존하고 활성화하자고 주장하면서 지역을 바라보는 관점을 행정적으로 분할된 재개발 구역에서 유기적으로 연결된 산업생태계로 리프레이밍했다. 이러한 활동을 전개했던 활동가들은 청계천-을지로 지역에 대한 애착심과 재개발에 대한 분노로 이 저항운동을 시작하여, 자신의 역량과 시간에 따라 유연하게 결합하면서 운동을 지속해왔다. 그리고 이들은 투쟁 과정에서 사회운동에 대한 인식 변화와 자기 성장을 경험했고, 지역의 상공인들과 친밀감과 유대감을 느끼면서 상공인들과 산업생태계가 그대로 존속되길 바라고 있다. 또한 이 재개발 반대운동이 한국사회에 만연한 개발주의나 남성중심주의적 사회운동을 타파할 수 있는 하나의 사례가 될 수 있기를 희망한다.

영문 초록

The study seeks to explain the resistance of the urban social movement, which re-recognized the “Sewoon Redevelopment Promotion District” as the “Cheonggyecheon-Euljiro Industrial Ecosystem,” and the experience of activists who were an important condition of its activities. To this end, documents produced during field records and activities were collected as basic literature materials, and a written interview-style self-privacy paper was conducted for nine activists. To this end, I collected field notes and documents, and conducted written interviews for nine activists. The movement called for an end to redevelopment against political forces trying to push ahead with redevelopment, and called for the preservation and revitalization of industrial ecosystems with historical, industrial and cultural value. This argument led to the reframing of the view of the region from an administrative partitioned redevelopment district to an organically connected industrial ecosystem. Activists began the resistance movement with affection for the Cheonggyecheon-Euljiro area and anger over redevelopment. And continued this movement, combining flexibly with one s ability and time. And in the course of the struggle, they experienced a change of perception of social movements and self-growth, and felt a sense of closeness and bond with local businessmen. And we hope that business people and industrial ecosystems will be preserved as they are. Furthermore, it is hoped that the anti-gentrification movement will serve as an example of breaking down the rampant developmental or male-centered social movement in Korean society.
