기혼 직장여성의 혼외관계 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 기혼 직장여성들이 혼외관계 속에서 무엇을 경험하는지 탐구하고 그 경험의 의미와 본질이 무엇인지 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기혼 직장여성 중에서 혼외관계를 진행 중이거나 관계 종결 후 2년 이내, 이혼을 한 경우에는 이혼 전에 혼외관계를 시작해 현재까지 관계를 지속 중이거나 종결한 시점이 면접일을 기준으로 2년 이내인 3명을 최종 연구참여자로 선정하여 van Manen의 해석학적 현상학(hermeneutic phenomenology) 연구방법에 기초하 여 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과 기혼 직장여성의 혼외관계 경험은 ‘외로운 일상에서 찾은 행복, 동시에 혼란을 경험함’, ‘존재감을 충족하면서 만족과 안정을 경험함’, ‘이혼을 통해 새로운 미 래를 기대함’, ‘뒤늦은 후회와 깨달음’, ‘소중한 것에 집중하며 새로운 걸음 내딛기’라는 다섯 가지 대주제가 도출되었고, 본 대주제에 대해 총 열세 개의 하위주체가 도출되었다. 본 연구는 지금까지 연구한 사례가 드문 기혼 직장여성의 혼외관계 경험에 대한 질적 연구를 통해 참여자 들이 혼외관계 속에서 무엇을 경험하고 그것을 어떻게 인식하는지 보다 생생하고 깊은 이해를 시도하고자 하였으며, 또한 기존의 가부장적 사회에서 현대사회로 넘어오며 여전히 과도기적 단계에 있는 사회 또는 가족 구조 내 기혼 직장여성의 위치와 역할을 다시 한번 생각해보고, 보다 건강하고 상생하는 관계를 위해서 무엇이 필요한지 생각해보는 기회를 제공한 것에 의의 가 있다.

영문 초록

In this study sought to explore what married working women experienced in extramarital relationships and understand the meaning and nature of the experience. This study sought to explore what married working women experienced in extramarital relationships and understand the meaning and nature of the experience. For this, it was conducted based on van Manen’s hermeneutic phenomenology research method and the data were collected from finally three married working women who were engaged in extramarital relationships. As a result, married working women’s experiences of extramarital relationships were derived in five major subjects: ‘Happiness found in lonely daily life, and at the same time experiencing confusion as well’, ‘Experiencing satisfaction and stability while filling presence’, ‘Expecting a new future through divorce’, ‘Late Regret and Enlightenment’, ‘Focus on the precious and take a new step’. And totally thirteen sub-subjects were derived. This study is meaningful in that it attempted a deeper understanding of what participants experienced and perceived in extramarital relationships through qualitative research, which have been rarely studied so far. It is significant to provide an opportunity to reconsider the position and role of married women in a society or family structure that is transitioning from a patriarchal society to a modern society and is still in a transitional stage, and to think about what is needed for a healthier and coexisting relationship.
