The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of disability characters in children s literature and to find out the views on disabilities in children s literature related to disabilities. As a conclusion obtained through content analysis of a total of 16 works, first, it was described that the personal characteristics of persons with disabilities in children s literature related to disabilities were less than the general level. Second, the idea that the general public without a disability should help with characters with disabilities was dominant. Third, disability characters in children s literature related to disabilities often lack self-determination or are described as negative images.
It is said that literature reflects the general level of consciousness of that era. It is necessary to recognize that creative books, in which the reader is a child, have a great influence even if they do not have an intentional educational purpose.
