다문화가족 자녀의 이중문화수용태도 변화유형에 따른 학교적응에 관한 연구

국문 초록

국내의 다문화가족 자녀는 지속적으로 증가 추이에 있으며, 이들의 이중문화수용태도는 학교적응을 예측하는 보호변수로서 통합적인 탐색의 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다문화가족 자녀의이중문화수용태도의 변화유형을 구체적으로 이해하고, 유형별 학교적응이 어떠한지를 살펴보는것이다. 즉 다문화가족 자녀의 이중문화수용태도의 변화유형을 도출하여, 이러한 변화궤적이 학교적응에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원이 구축한 다문화청소년패널 1차에서 6차 조사에 참여한 초등학교 4학년~중학교 3학년 시기 다문화가족 자녀 1,453명의 자료를 분석하였다. 다차원잠재계층성장분석을 활용하여 이중문화수용태도의 하위차원인 한국문화 지향성과 외국인부모문화 지향성의 변화궤적을 동시에 반영하여 변화유형을 도출하였다. 분석 결과, 이중문화수용태도에 따라서 이중문화수용형, 낮은 수준 동화형, 높은 수준 동화형, 문화무지향형의 네 가지 하위유형이 도출되었다. 각각의 하위유형별 학교적응의 궤적을 통해 학교적응정도를 알아본 결과, 한국문화와 외국인부모문화 모두에 긍정적인 이중문화수용형이 초기값이가장 높아 타 유형에 비해 상대적으로 긍정적인 학교적응을 보였으며, 낮은 수준 동화형과 두문화 모두에 뚜렷한 지향성을 보이지 않는 문화무지향형이 타 유형에 비해 상대적으로 가장 낮은학교적응을 나타냈다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 다문화가족 자녀의 학교적응과 이중문화수용태도를 증진시키기 위한 실천적인 논의와 후속 연구를 위한 과제를 제시하였다

영문 초록

The number of children of multicultural families have been constrantly incresing, and studies have shown that their bicultural acceptance attitudes affects their school adaptation as a protective factor. This study is to investigate the subtypes of bicultural acceptance attitudes among children among multicultural families and track the trajectories of school adaptation in the subtypes. For this purpose, this study used six waves of longitudinal data from the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS, 2011-2016). The sample consisted of 1,453 adolescents from mulicultural families. This study employed multidimensional latent class growth analysis to identify subtypes of bicultural acceptance attitudes, given Korean cultural orientation and foreign-parent cultural orientation. The main results are as follows. First, the best fitting model identified four types of bicultural acceptance attitudes; Bicultural, low assimilated, high assimilated, culturally undirected groups. Second, looking at school adaptation by subtypes, the initial value of school adaptation was highest in the bicultural group, while low assimilated group and culturally undirected group showed the lowest level of adaptation. Based on these findings, the necessity of intervention and policy to enhance school adaptation and bicultural acceptance attitudes among children of multicultural families and suggestion was discussed.
