학교협동조합 활동과 학생조합원 역량 변화에 대한 연구

국문 초록

급변하는 사회에서 ‘학교는 학생에게 무엇을 가르쳐야 하며, 학생이 어떤 사람이 되도록 해야 하는가’ 라는 문제와 관련하여, ‘역량’이라는 용어가 교육계에서 적극 논의되고 있다. 최근에는 학교협동조합을 통해 학습자가 특정 맥락에서 문제해결 역량을 효과적으로 학습할 수 있을 것으로 여겨지면서 전국적으로 학교협동조합 설립이 증가하고 있다. 전라북도교육청도 2017년 8월 「전라북도교육청 학교협동조합 지원 및 육성에 관한 조례」를 제정하였고, 이를 시작으로 2017년 7월 C중학교의 ‘생그레’, 2018년 1월 A고등학교 ‘YHAM’, 11월 B고등학교의 ‘어울림’, 12월 D중학교의 ‘도담’이라는 학교협동조합이 줄줄이 인가를 받았다. 본 연구에서는 전라북도 학교협동조합 운영 4교의 학교협동조합 활동이 학생조합원의 역량에 어떤 변화를 주었는지 알아보기 위해 역량 평가지를 이용한 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 4교 학생조합원의 역량 평균이 비조합원 학생보다 유의수준 하에서 더 높게 나타나 학교협동조합 활동이 학생조합원의 역량 변화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 학교협동조합이 교육의 장으로서 역할을 확대해 나갈 수 있도록 학교협동조합의 내실 있는 운영, 공감대 확산을 위한 지속적인 관심과 지원, 국가 차원에서의 설립절차 간소화 등을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

In a rapidly changing society, the term capability is being actively discussed in the education community with regard to the questions such as ‘What should schools teach students?’ and ‘What kind of person should students be?’ The establishment of school cooperatives unions has been on the rise recently. This is because school cooperatives are believed to enhance effectively students problem-solving skills under certain circumstances. Jeollabukdo Office of Education enacted the 「Act on Support and Promotion of School Cooperatives of Jeollabukdo Office of Education」in August 2017. Starting with this, a series of school cooperatives unions called Sengre at C Middle School in July 2017, YHAM at A High School in January 2018, Eoulim at B High School in November and Dodam at D Middle School in December were approved. In this study, a Survey was conducted to find out how the activities of the school cooperatives unions in the four schools operating in Jeollabukdo changed the capability of the students in the unions. As a result, the average capability of the students in the unions was higher than that of non-unionized students. This confirmed that the activities of the school cooperatives unions were having a positive effect on the changes in student union members capability. Based on this research, the followings are suggested: more educational roles of school cooperative unions, substantial operation of them, continued interest and support for them, and simplified founding process at the national level.
