보성강에 서식하는 동사리(Odontobutis platycephala)의 생태

국문 초록

동사리의 생태를 조사하기 위하여 보성강 상류 3개 정점에서 1월부터 12월까지 매월 1회씩 조사를 하여 서식지 환경조사와 함께 어류를 채집하였다. 동사리의 서식지는 모두 하천의 중·상류로 물의 흐름이 빠르지 않고, 바닥이 모래나 자갈로 되어 있는 곳에서 많이 서식하였다. 각 정점별로 혼서하는 어종을 조사한 결과, 피라미, 갈겨니, 돌고기 등이 우점하였다. 생식소 성숙도는 3월부터 현저히 발달하기 시작하여, 암컷은 3월에 11.49로 최고값을 나타냈고, 수컷은 5월에 0.64로 최고값을 나타냈다. GSI와 산란 개체군의 성숙도를 비교해본 결과, 산란시기는 암컷의 생식소 성숙도가 10.0% 이상, 수컷은 0.6% 이상에 달하는 수온이 15.0~19.0℃인 3월부터 5월까지로 생각되며, 산란 성기는 4월로 추정된다. 성숙한 암컷의 생식소 내의 알의 수를 조사한 결과, 알의 수는 1,190~2,176개(평균 1,531개, n=10)였으며, 개체의 크기가 클수록 많은 알을 가지고 있었다. 암·수의 성비는 1:0.86으로 암컷이 우세하게 나타났다. 산란 행동은 초저녁부터 이른 새벽까지 지속되며, 산란습성은 수컷이 그늘진 돌 밑을 산란 장소로 하여 암컷을 유인하는 구애행동을 취하여 쌍을 이룬다. 또한, 동사리의 산란장에 돌고기가 산란 및 방정을 하여 탁란을 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

영문 초록

Ecology of Odontobutis platycephala have been investigated at 3 stations of the upper river in Bousng River from January to December. To study ecology, some studies were conducted such as the environment of spawning place, total lengths, sex ratios of spawning group and gonadosomatic index(GSI). Habitat was middle and upper part of the river, where was slowly flow and a bottom consisted of sands of pebbles. The dominant cohabitation fishes were Zacco platypus, Zacco temmincki, and Pungtungia herzi. The mean GSI of female and male were the highest in March (11.49) and in May (0.64) respectively. Spawning season was from March to May, when the GSI of female and male were over 10.0% and over 0.5%, and water temperature was 15.0~19.0℃. Eggs were spherical in shape and counted for 1,190~2,176 (mean 1,531, n=10) in the ovary. Sex ratios of females to the male was 1:0.86. The spawning behavior occurred mainly from early evening to early dawn. The male took a courtship that attracted the female under the stone. After pairing, the male stop the access of other fish, and hatch the eggs until the female lay and attach the eggs. After O. platycephala spawned under a stone, P. herzi tended to spawn near the stone. As a result, P. herzi parasitize the spawning ground of O. platycephala.
