노인의 재난 후 갈등경험과 사회참여가 우울에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 재난 후 갈등경험과 사회참여가 우울에 미치는 영향을살펴봄으로써 재난피해 노인의 우울을 감소시키기 위한 사회복지적 함의를모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석을 위해 국립재난안전연구원의 3차년도재난피해자 패널자료를 활용하였고, 65세 이상 노인 666명이 최종분석 대상이다. 분석은 SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 재난 후 갈등을 경험한 노인이 갈등을 경험하지 않은 노인보다 우울 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 재난 후사회참여 활동에 활발히 참여할수록 우울 수준은 낮게 나타났다. 또한 월평균 가구소득이 높을수록, 주관적 건강상태가 좋을수록 우울 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 재난피해 노인의 우울을 감소시키기 위해 재난 후 발생할 수 있는 갈등의 소지를 줄이고 효과적으로 관리해야 하며, 노인의 사회참여 활동을 강화할 필요가 있음을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore social welfare implications for reducing the depression of disaster-affected elderly by examining the effects of conflict experience and social participation on depression after the disaster. For the analysis, we used the panel data of the third year disaster victims of the National Disaster Management Research Institute, and 666 elderly people over 65 years old were used for the final analysis. The data was analyzed using SPSS 21.0 statistical package for descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results analysis showed that the elderly who experienced conflict after disaster had higher depression than the elderly who did not experience conflict. In contrast, the more active participants in social participation after disasters, the lower the level of depression. The higher the monthly average household income and the better the subjective health, the lower the level of depression. Based on the above findings, it was suggested that in order to reduce the depression of disaster-affected elderly, it is necessary to reduce the possibility of conflict after disaster and to strengthen the social participation activities of the elderly.
