영문 초록

This study analyze causes that the foreign trade statistics published by China and korea respectively display unusually large discrepancies. In 2000, although korea and China showed a Chinese trade deficit, the reported values of that deficit differed by over $ 62 billion. The study founded that the primary cause of the bilateral differences is the large amount of China and Korea foreign trade that is shipped intermediaries such as Hong Kong. For example, many of the goods shown by the Korea as imports from China are shown by China as exports to Hong Kong. The study estimated total trade between China and Korea by combining China s direct export-import trade with estimates of trade via Hong Kong. As a result, the study explain that measures and tools of calculation of goods via Hong Kong most likely account for the large difference between the trade statistics of China and Korea. Analyzing shows high possibility that China Customs changed main principles to measure bilateral trade statistics between China and korea since 1998, year of Korea financial crisis.
