북한과 동아시아 국가의 무역과 분쟁 상호작용 효과 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 북한과 동아시아 국가의 무역과 분쟁이 상호작용하는지 분석하여북한의 분쟁의 발생을 감소시키는 방법을 도출했다. 연구결과 분쟁은 무역을감소시키며, 무역은 분쟁을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났지만 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았다. 무역과 분쟁의 발생은 국가와 시기에 따라 상이하게 발생했기 때문이다. Barbieri와 Oneal and Russett의 모형을 적용한 북한과 동아시아 국가의경제적 상호의존은 분쟁의 발생 가능성을 증가시키며 통계적으로 유의미하지않게 나타나면서 현실주의의 주장이 설득력을 보인다. 그러나 북한과 동아시아국가 간에 무역이 분쟁을 촉진시 킨다고 보기에는 어려움이 있다. 북한은 동아시아 국가들과의 경제적인 갈등과 협력의 부재가 군사적인 행동으로 이끌지 않았기 때문이다. 오히려 북한의 남한에 대한 분쟁이 큰 비중을 차지하여 무역이분쟁을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 그런데 경제개방과 외교관계의 확대는 분쟁의 발생 가능성을 감소시키는 경향이 있다. 북한과 동아시아 국가와의 산업협력을 통해 북한의 경제를 개방시켜 나가고 재외공관을 설치하여 관계를 확대해 나가는 것이 동아시아에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 북한의 분쟁의 발생을 감소시키고 무역을 발전시켜 동아시아에 평화와 번영을 촉진시키는 방법을 무역과 분쟁의 상호작용 효과를 통해서 분석하려 했다는 점에서 이 연구의의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed how trade and disputes between North Korea and East Asian countries interacted with each other to find ways to reduce the incidence of North Korean disputes. Research has shown that disputes reduce trade and trade increases disputes, but it is not statistically significant. The occurrence of trade and disputes may not be statistically significant, since it may occur differently depending on the country and time. The Economic Interdependence of North and East Asian countries applying Barbieri and Oneal and Russett’s models increases the likelihood of conflict and is not statistically significant. Realist claims make convincing. However, it is difficult to see that trade between North Korea and East Asian countries promotes disputes. North Korea did not lead to military action in the absence of economic conflicts and cooperation with East Asian countries. Rather, disputes over North Korea’s South Korea accounted for a large portion of the total, indicating that trade increased disputes. However, Economy openness and expanding Diplomatic ties tend to reduce the possibility of conflicts. Opening up North Korea’s economy through industrial cooperation with North Korea and East Asian countries, and establishing diplomatic offices can have a positive impact on East Asia. This study has its significance in that it tried to analyze the way of promoting peace and prosperity in East Asia through the Reciprocal effects of trade and dispute.
