국문 초록

테러리즘은 시대에 따라 그 목적과 형태를 변화하면서 발전해 왔다. 현재는 첨단 정보통신기술을 이용해 물리적 세계가 가상의 세계로 전환되어 무차별적인 공격이 온라인과 오프라인을 넘나들며 공격하는 형태로 변모 하였다. 즉 현실에서 자행되는 테러리즘은 사이버 공간에서의 소셜 미디어와 네트워킹을 활용하기 때문에 예측하고 대비하기가 더 어렵고 불가능하게 된 것이다. 인터넷의 발달과 사이버 네트워킹의 확장은 사이버 공간이 단순한 가상공간으로 머무는 것이 아니라 우리의 생활에 직·간접적으로 영향을 미치는 중요한 공간으로 활용됨을 의미한다. 소셜 미디어는 오래되지 않았지만 한국뿐 아니라 전 세계적으로 소셜 네트워크를 통해 사회적 상호작용과 활용의 아주 중요한 도구가 되었고, 사이버 공간은 현실공간과 함께 일상을 공유하는 수준이 되었다. 이는 각종 범죄가 사이버 공간을 통해 만들어지고 소셜 미디어와 네트워킹을 통해서 확대 재생산되는 것을 의미한다. 이러한 사회적 현상에서 테러리즘은 단순한 사이버 테러의 수준을 넘어 실질적이고 공격적인 테러로 전 세계에 공포로 다가오고 있다. 따라서 이 논문은 현재 소셜 미디어와 사이버 네트워킹을 활용한 테러리즘을 분석하고 정책적 측면에서 효율적인 방안을 제시 하였다.

영문 초록

Terrorism has evolved by changing its purpose and form according to the times. Now that the physical world is being converted into a virtual world by the use of high-tech information communication technologies, the form of terrorist attacks has transformed into an indiscriminate one carried out in and out of online and offline spaces. That is to say that terrorism being exercised in the reality has become more challenging, even impossible to predict and guard against because social media and networking are used in cyber spaces. The development of Internet and the expansion of cyber networking imply that cyber spaces do not stay merely in the virtual sphere but used as important spaces that exert both direct and indirect influences on our life. Despite a short history of social media, it has become a significant tool of social interaction and utilization via social networks not only in Korea but throughout the world, and cyber spaces, together with real spaces, have reached the level of sharing people’s day-to-day life. All sorts of crimes are created through cyber spaces to be expanded and reproduced through social media and networking. In this respect, the horror created by terrorism today goes beyond simple cyber attacks and threatens the entire world as material and aggressive attacks. Therefore, this paper analyzes terrorism today which utilizes cyber networking and suggests effective countermeasures in terms of political aspects.
