국문 초록

본 논문은 ‘어리석고 약한 자’로서(As One Without Wisdom and Power)의 사도 바울의 사역과 설교의 모습을 고린도서신을 통해 살 펴봄으로써 우리의 사역과 설교의 표본으로 삼고자 한다. 특히 고린 도전서 1-2장(특히, 1:10-2:5)과 4장, 9장 더 나아가 고린도후서 2:14-16, 17 및 10-13장을 통해 ‘어리석고 약한 자’로서의 바울의 사 역과 설교의 모습을 살펴볼 것이다. 먼저, 서론의 간단한 문제 제기 후에 논문은 먼저 위에 언급된 본문들에 비추어 ‘어리석고 약한 자’ 로서의 바울의 사역의 모습(특징들)을 살펴보고, 이어 ‘어리석고 약 한 자’로서의 바울의 설교(의 특징들)를 살펴본다. 무엇보다도 ‘어리 석고 약한 자’로서의 바울의 사역과 설교의 모습은 철저히 십자가의 복음과 삶의 스타일에 기초한 것으로서 이것은 고전 2:1-5과 11:1의 말씀에 근거한 바울의 권면에 따른다. 사도 바울은 ‘십자가의 복음’ 을 ‘성령의 나타남과 능력’가운데 ‘하나님 앞에서와 그리스도 안에 서’ ‘약함의 사도’며 ‘고난 받는 종’의 모습으로 전하였다. 그의 설교는 당대의 고전 수사학을 부정한 것이 아니라 그가 다소와 가말리엘 에서 받은 교육(수사학)에 기초하여 ‘역설의 수사학’을 통해 복음의 가치와 능력을 역설적으로 드러내었다. 이런 까닭에 우리는 바울을 탁월한 ‘수사학적 시인’(Plank)이라고 부르며 그의 수사학을 우리는 ‘통념(endoxa)을 뒤엎는 역설(paradoxa)의 수사학’(Campbell)이라고 부른다. 그의 수사학은 ‘육체를 따라’ 자기 자랑과 자기 고양과 확장 을 추구하는 궤변론자들의 모습과는 달리 ‘십자가를 따라’ 자신의 약함을 자랑하고 십자가의 복음을 십자가의 삶의 모습가운데 성령을 의존하는 방법으로 사용한다.

영문 초록

This article suggests a model of ministry and preaching based on the ministry and preaching of Paul as ‘one without wisdom and power.’ We will be exploring the two letters to Corinthians, focusing on 1 Corinthians 1-2(1:10-2:5, especially 2:1-5), 4 and 9; and 2 Corinthians 2:14-16, 17 and chapter 10-13. The article will first propose a few issues in the introduction and then discuss the characteristics/features of Paul s ministry and preaching by analyzing the aforementioned passages. The characteristics of the ministry and preaching of Paul as ‘one without wisdom and power’ are based on the cruciformed gospel and lifestyle as seen in 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 and 11:1. “In the revelation of Holy Spirit and power” Paul the apostle proclaimed “the gospel of the cross” in his figures of “the apostle of weakness” and “the suffering servant”, “before God and in Christ(2 Cor. 2:17).” His preaching never denied contemporary rhetoric but paradoxically revealed the value and power of gospel. Paul did this through “rhetoric of paradox”, a rhetorical skill he would learn from the Roman grammar school at Tarsus and further under Gamaliel in Jerusalem. In this case Paul can be called an excellent “rhetorical poet”(Plank), and his rhetoric be named a “rhetoric of paradoxa beyond endoxa”(Campbell). Most sophists pursue both their own praises and self-promotion, according to the flesh(kata sarka). On the contrary, however, Paul as ‘one without wisdom and power’ pursues self-denial and boasts his own weakness, according to the Cross(kata stauron)”, and proclaims the gospel of the cross, depending on the Holy Spirit in the cruciformed life-style.
