국문 초록

연구의 목적은 부부 관계에서 부부의 회피대처행동이 책임귀인을 매개로 친밀감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보고, 회피대처행동, 책임귀인, 친밀감간의 관계를 규명하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 위하여 부부 상호간에 주고받는 영향을 분석하기에 적절한 자기-상대방 상호의 존모형(Actor-Partner Interdependence Model: APIM)을 구성하였고 이를 분석하였다. 모형 분석을 위해 사용된 자료는 남편과 아내 쌍으로 이루어진 총 211쌍의 부부를 대상으로 수집되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 남편과 아내의 회피대처행동이 책임귀인에 미치는 자기효과가 유의하였고, 남편과 아내 회피대처행동의 상대방효과는 유의하지 않았다. 둘째, 남편과 아내의 회피대처행동이 친밀감에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방효과는 남편의 경우에만 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 남편과 아내의 책임귀인이 친밀감에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방효과는 아내와 남편 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 남편과 아내의 회피대처행동, 책임귀인, 친밀감의 구조적 관계를 살펴본 결과 여러 경로에서 책임귀인의 완전매개효과가 검증되었다. 이러한 결과들은 회피대처행동, 책임귀인, 친밀감이 남편과 아내 상호관계에서 다른 양상으로 영향을 미치며, 회피대처행동은 부부의 친밀감에 책임귀인을 완전매개로 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구에서 검증된 책임귀인의 완전매개효과를 통해 볼 때, 부부를 다루는 임상현장에서는 부부가 상대 배우자에게 비관적이고 부정적인 책임귀인으로 반응하기 전에 부부의 회피대처행동에 개입하여 부부의 친밀감 유지에 노력을 기울여야 할 필요가 있다. 연구의 결과들을 토대로 연구의 시사점과 제한점, 그리고 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine how husbands’ and wives’ avoidance coping behavior affects intimacy through responsibility attribution, and to identify the relationship between avoidance coping behavior, responsibility attribution, and intimacy. For the purpose of the study, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) analysis method was used to analyze the actor effect and partner effect. The data used for the model analysis were collected through a total of 211 couples, consisting of husband and wife pairs. First, the research showed that the actor-effect of husbands’ and wives’ avoidance coping behavior was significant, and the partner-effect was not significant. Second, the actor-effect and partner-effect which avoidance coping behavior influences on intimacy were found to be significant only for husband. Third, the actor-effect and partner-effect of responsibility attribution were significant in case of both husbands and wives. Fourth, after examining the structural relationship between husband and wife’s avoidance coping behavior, responsibility attribution and intimacy, the full effect of responsible attribution has been verified in many ways. These results show that avoidance coping behavior, responsibility attribution and intimacy affect different aspects of husband-wife interaction, and that avoidance coping behavior affects the couple’s intimacy by responsibility attribution. In addition, since the full effect of responsibility attribution has been verified, clinician should intervene the couple’s avoidance behavior to maintain their intimacy. Based on the results of the study, the implications and limitations of the study were made and suggestions for further study were made.
