국문 초록

[연구목적] 본 연구는 과학교육에서 북한의 교육을 이해하기 위한 과정의 일부로 남한과 북한의 중·고등학교 과학과 교육과정 중 생명과학 영역을 비교·분석한 연구이다. 국제 사회에 잘 알려지지 않은 북한의 과학교육을 남한과 비교를 통해 파악함으로써 교육과정 국제비교연구에 필요한 기초자료를 마련하고자 한다. 또한, 향후 남북통일 시대에 생명과학 교육과정 개발에 필요한 기초자료도 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단하여 연구를 수행되었다. [연구방법] 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 남한과 북한의 중·고등학교 과학과 교육과정 중 생명과학 영역을 분석하였으며, 교육과정의 주요 구성 요소인 목표, 내용, 교수·학습 방향, 평가를 각각 비교·분석하였다. 이 연구를 위해 비교한 자료는 남한의 ‘2015 개정 과학과 교육과정’과 북한의 ‘2013년 제1차 의무교육 강령’이다. 두 자료를 비교 분석하기 위해 교육과정의 목표, 내용, 교수학습 방향, 평가 분석틀을 각각 만들어 사용했다. [연구결과] 주요 연구결과로는 첫째, 남한의 중·고등학교 교육과정의 목표에는 개념이해, 탐구 능력, 정의적 영역, 창의성 영역, 과학적 소양 등이 포함되어 있는 반면, 북한은 과학교육 영역에서는 다루지 않는 국가 원수의 사상이 포함되어 있고, 지식, 탐구, 응용, 창조적 능력, 품성과 태도, 사회 활용 능력 등을 강조하고 있었다. 둘째, 내용면에서 북한의 생명과학 교과는 남한과 달리 농업, 축산업, 수산업 등 북한의 식량문제와 직접 연관되어 있었다. 셋째, 교수·학습 방향에서 전 세계적으로 강조하고 있는 자료 수집 및 해석, 발표, 문제해결력, 지식과 기능 응용, 과학적 글쓰기 등의 내용이 북한 교육과정에 포함되어 있었는데, 실험 안전 활동 등에 대한 지침은 나타나 있지 않았다. 북한에서는 무엇을 평가할 것인지에 관한 내용은 나타나 있었지만, 어떻게 평가할 것인가에 관한 기술은 거의 없었다. [결론] 이 연구 결과들은 미래 남북통일 시대에 필요한 생명과학 교육과정 개발 및 운영을 위한 기초자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

[Purpose] This study compares the science curriculum related to life science of middle and high schools for understanding life science education of South and North Korea. [Methods] For the study, the science curriculum related to life science of middle and high schools in South and North Korea were analyzed into goals, contents, teaching and learning strategies and evaluations. The data analyzed for the study were from the 2015 revised science curriculum of South Korea and the 2013 first compulsory education program of North Korea. [Results] As results, the goals of science curriculum of the middle and high school in South Korea include conceptual understanding, inquiry skills, scientific attitude, creativity, application and scientific literacy, while North Korea do not scientific literacy but other six domains. In terms of contents, the life science as a subject in North Korea unlike South Korea, were directly related to food problems such as agriculture, stockbreeding, and fisheries. The North Korean curriculum included data collection and interpretation skills, presentation skills, problem solving skills, knowledge application skills, and scientific writing skills, this is emphasized worldwide. In North Korea, there was a description of what to evaluate, but there was little description of how to evaluate. [Conclusion] The results of this study are expected to be the basic data for the development and operation of the life science curriculum needed for the unification of South and North Korea in future.
