국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2015 개정 고등학교 영어과 교육과정에서 새로이 편성된 진로 선택 과목에 대하여 학생들이 교육과정의 목표에 도달했는지를 판단할 수 있는 기준으로 활용할 수 있도록 영어 교과 성취기준에 대한 평가기준을 개발하고자 하였다. 우선 교육과정 문서에 제시되어있는 성취기준을 기반으로 평가 활동에서 판단의 기준이 될 수 있는 교육과정 성취기준을 재구성하여 학생들이 학습을 통해 성취해야 할 지식, 기능, 태도의 능력과 특성을 진술하였다. 이를 ‘평가준거 성취기준’이라 하고, ‘평가준거 성취기준’에 도달한 정도를 ‘상’, ‘중’, ‘하’로 나누어 진술하여 ‘평가기준’을 개발하였다. 또한 진로 선택 과목의 영역별 성취수준은 평가의 부담을 줄이고 과목 신설 취지를 반영한 수업이 가능하도록 A/B/C의 3단계로 기술하였다. 예시 평가도구 개발에서는 학교현장의 요구에 알맞게 활용할 수 있도록 다양한 유형을 제시하되 선다형, 단답형 등의 평가는 지양하고, 서술형, 구술, 논술 등 말하기, 쓰기 수행 평가의 예시를 제시하고자 하였으며, 과정 중심 평가의 예시가 되도록 하였다.

영문 초록

The study aims to develop assessment standards and tools for career-related subjects of high school English. Four career-related electives were newly included in the 2015 National English Curriculum of Korea in order to support students to explore careers or further academic studies. According to objectives and content of the subjects in the National Curriculum, the study develops guidelines on how to evaluate students’ achievement and understand the characteristics of each achievement level. These achievement standards have been developed to provide descriptions to help teachers understand how they should develop evaluation criteria for their classes. The assessment standards are defined as expected levels that indicate what students know and what they can do in terms of ‘high’, ‘intermediate,’ and ‘low’. As for achievement levels for the four language domains of the subject, a three-level grading system of A/B/C is suggested. This is to lessen the burden of evaluation and to have a class in which the main purpose of building English communication skills is well reflected. As for assessments tools, multiple choice and short-answer type questions are avoided while examples of performance assessment for speaking and writing including descriptive writing, oral presentation, and essay writing are suggested.
