노인의 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 체계적 고찰과 메타분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 체계적 고찰을 통해 노인의 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 요인과 연구의 동향을 살펴보고, 연구 결과를 통합 및 분석하여 노인의 자아존중감과 관련된 요인에 대해 보다 통찰력 있는 정보를 제공하는데 그목적이 있다. 1990년부터 2018년 6월까지 국내에 수행된 학술지와 학위논문을 중심으로 총 171편의 연구를 선정하여 연구에 제시된 상관계수를 통해 평균효과크기를 살펴보았고 노인의 거주특성에 따른 조절효과를 분석하였다. 연구의 주된 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 자아존중감과 관련된 요인을 생태체계적 관점을 통해 살펴보았으며 개인체계 관련 요인은 31개, 가족체계 관련 요인은 5개, 지역사회체계 관련 요인은 16개가 도출되었다. 둘째, 각 체계에서 가장 큰 효과크기를 나타낸 요인은 살펴보면 개인체계 요인에서는 죽음불안도, 가족체계 요인에서는 가족지지, 지역사회체계 요인에서는 사회적지지의 하위요인인 가족지지로 나타났다. 셋째, 조절변수를 노인의 거주특성(시설/재가)으로 하여 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 거주특성에 따라 가족지지가 자아존중감에 미치는 효과크기는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 노인의 자아존중감을 향상시키기 위해 어떠한 요인이 영향력이 있으며, 우선적으로 개입되어야 할 요인이 무엇인지를 파악하게 해줄 수 있을 것이고, 사회복지실천현장에서 본 연구결과에 나타난 요인을 고려하여 자아존중감 향상 프로그램 개발한다면 이에 대한 기초자료를 제시해 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the factors related to self-esteem and research trends of the elderly through systematic considerations, and to provide more insightful information on factors related to self-esteem of the elderly by integrating and analyzing the results of the study. From 1990 to June, 2018, a total of 171 studies were focusing on academic journals and dissertations conducted in Korea, and the average effect size was examined through correlation coefficients presented in the study. The regulation effect by residential character of the elderly was also analyzed. The main results of the study are as follows. First, the factors related to self-esteem of the elderly were examined through an ecological perspective. 31 factors related to the personal system, 5 factors related to the family system, and 16 factors related to the community system were derived. Second, the factors that showed the greatest effect size in each system were death anxiety scale in the individual system factors, family support in the family system factors, and family support, which is a subfactor of social support, in the community system factors. Third, as a result of analyzing the control effect using the control variable as the living characteristics of the elderly (facilities/home), the difference in the effect size of self-esteem according to the family support was found. These findings will be able to identify which factors are influential to improve the self-esteem of the elderly and what should be the first interventions. If you take into account the factors presented in this study and develop a self-esteem improvement program in the field of social welfare practice, you can provide basic data on this.
