중고령 부부의 주관적 건강궤적 잠재계층이 결혼만족에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국고령화패널(Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing: KLoSA)의 1차(2006년)-6차(2016년) 자료를 사용하여 중고령 부부의 주관적 건강궤적에 따른 잠재계층을 탐색하고, 아내와 남편의 주관적 건강 하위계층이 본인과 배우자의 결혼만족에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 두 단계에 걸친 분석을 진행하였다. 첫째, 잠재성장계층분석(LGCA, Latent Growth Class Analysis)을 수행하여 6개차년도의 주관적 건강궤적을 4가지 하위 집단으로 분류하였으며, 각 하위 집단을 고수준 유지(38%), 악화(28%), 저수준 개선(16%), 저수준 유지 (18%) 집단으로 명명하였다. 둘째, 표면상 무관회귀분석(SUR, Seemingly Unrelated Regression)을 통해 주관적 건강궤적의 잠재계층이 자신과 배우자의 결혼만족에 미치는 자기 효과와 상대방효과를 분석하였다. 표면상 무관회귀모형 분석 결과 아내와 남편의 건강궤적 하위집단이 결혼만족에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방효과가 일부 유의하였다. 아내는 고수준 유지 집단을 참조집단으로 하였을 때 자신의 건강궤적이 악화, 저수준 유지일 때 자신의 결혼만족이 유의하게 낮았다. 또한 아내는 남편의 주관적 건강이 고수준 유지인 집단과 비교하여 악화, 저수준 유지 집단에 포함될 때 자신의 결혼만족이 낮았다. 남편의 결혼만족 역시 자신과 아내의 건강변화 하위궤적의 영향을 받았다. 남편은 자신과 부인의 건강 하위궤적이 저수준 유지에 포함될 때 고수준 유지집단에 비하여 결혼만족이 유의하게 낮았다. 본 연구 결과는 장기간에 걸친 건강변화의 방향성과 누적효과가 자신과 배우자의 결혼의 질에 영향을 미친다는 생애 과정이론 및 부부 간 상호의존성을 뒷받침한다. 또한 본 연구의 결과는 배우자에 대한 상호의존성 및 자기효과･상대방효과에 대해 보다 다각적인 연구가 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to explore the latent classes of subjective health trajectory among mid- and old-aged couples and to examine whether these latent classes have actor and partner effects on couple’s marital satisfaction. Two stages of analyses were conducted using the first (2006) to the sixth (2016) waves from KLoSA (Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing). First, subjective health of six consecutive waves was classified into four classes by latent growth class analysis (LGCA), and each class was named as following: a high maintenance group (38%), reduction group (28%), low-start-mild-increase group (16%), and low maintenance group (18%). Second, seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) model was performed to analyze the actor effects (the effects of an individual latent classes of subjective health trajectory on the marital satisfaction of oneself) and the partner effects (the effects of individual latent classes of subjective health trajectory on the spouses’ marital satisfaction). The results showed some actor and partner effects are significant. First, actor effects of health trajectory on marital satisfaction were found in both wives’ and husbands’ model. With the high maintenance group as reference group, wives had significantly lower marital satisfaction when their subjective health trajectory was decreasing or maintaining lower status. And husbands had significantly lower marital satisfaction when their subjective health was maintaining lower status. Also wives’ marital satisfaction was lower when their spouses’ subjective health was decreasing or remaining lower status compared to high maintenance group. And husbands’ marital satisfaction was lower when their spouses’ subjective health was remaining lower status compared to high maintenance group. The results of this study support the life-course theory and marital interdependence that long-term trajectories of health of individuals and their spouses affect marital satisfaction of oneselves and their spouses. This suggests that more advanced studies are needed to consider interdependencies among couples.
