국문 초록

본 논의는 <초공본풀이>에서 삼형제가 무조신(巫祖神)이 되는 이야기를 통해이 신화의 전승자들에게 무조신의 의미가 무엇인지 살펴보고자 한다. 세속적 세계와 신성한 세계에서 삼형제의 능력이나 욕망은 대립적이다. 세속적 세계에서 삼형 제는 문무에 탁월한 능력으로 벼슬을 하고자 하지만 끝내 실패한다. 신성한 세계에서 삼형제는 악기를 만들어 치고 어머니를 재생하는 데 성공한다. 각각의 세계에서 아버지 주자선생의 역할 역시 방해자와 조력자로 차이가 난다. 이러한 차이는 삼형제가 무조신이 되는 과정에서 세속을 초월했다거나 자연스럽게 이행했다고 보기 힘들게 한다. 이들은 세속적 능력이나 자질을 부정하거나 끊어내고 무조신이 된다. 이는 텍스트 문면에서는 ‘팔자를 그르친다’는 것으로 표 현된다. <초공본풀이>의 삼형제가 영웅이라고 한다면, 이 종교적 영웅은 이루고 성취한 영웅이 아니라 한 세계를 부정해 낸 영웅, 단절을 인내한 영웅이다. <초공본풀이>는 그런 영웅으로서 무조신의 탄생에 대한 이야기이며, 세속과 종교의 관 계, 세속에서 인간의 삶과 무속에서 사제의 삶의 관계를 엇갈린 구조로 명시한 이야기이기도 하다. 결국 텍스트의 엇갈린 구조의 어떤 측면에 초점을 두느냐에 따라 이 본풀이는 비극과 자존의 이중적 메시지를 전달하거나 구축한다.

영문 초록

This discussion will examine the meaning of ‘God of Shamans’ in thismythical enjoyment group through the story of the three brotherhood being the shamanistic god in Chogongbonpul-i. In the secular world and the divine world, the threefold power or desire is contradictory. In the secular world, the three brothers try to do the job with excellent ability in their affairs, but they eventually fail. In the sacred world, the Three Brothers succeed in creating musical instruments and regenerating their mothers. In each world, the role of the father is also different between the interrupter and the helper. This difference makes it difficult to see that the three brothers transcended secularity or naturally carried out in the process of being Gods. They deny or cut off their secular abilities or qualities and become Gods. This is expressed in the text of the sentence as “They make a failure of their palja[八字].” If they are heroes, these religious heroes are not a accomplished heroes but a heroes who have denied a world. The story is about the birth of unconditional as a hero, and it is a story about the relationship between secular and religion, the relationship between human life and shamanism in secular life as a disconnected structure. In conclusion, this myth conveys or builds a dual message of tragedy and self- sufficiency, depending on the aspects of the disconnected structure of the text.
