영문 초록

This study looks at the types of youth participation in youth activities in Korea between 2014 and 2017, at a time when the majority of youth groups activities were at a standstill because of direct and indirect restrictions on their activities outside of school. This research will suggest an alternative by presenting a case of convergence of tourism and education by looking at the achievement of the leadership which volunteer youth guides get by providing tours to foreign tourists in Korea and the satisfaction of foreign tourists with their guide services . In order to accomplish the purpose of the research, two types of surveys were filled out by teenagers aged 13 to 18. 135 teenagers who were participating in the survey regarding the recognition of youth activities and 154 youths were participating regarding the value of participation in the activities. The feedback forms filled out by 380 foreign tourists who took the tours conducted by volunteer youth tour guides were also collected afterward. According to the survey, high percent of foreign tourists said they were very satisfied with the tour and it helped them learn Korean history and culture. Through volunteer tour guide activities for foreign tourists, the youth were able to gain self-confidenceand pride in their own culture, develop communication and language skills, understand other cultures and experience international exchanges. The aim of this study is to encourage the expansion of extracurricular activities for the development of creative and interdisciplinary skills necessary for success in the future generation. It is important to make effective policies and promote various youth activities to prepare students for the 4th Industrial Revolution era. Hopefully, this study will be useful data necessary to support the healthy growth of young people.
