국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 증가하고 있는 인터넷 연계형 성매매 안에서 성매매 종사 여성에 대한 통제 방식이 어떻게 변화하고 있는지에 관해 검토하려는 연구이다. 본 연구에서 살펴보고자 하는 인터넷 성매매 유형은 오프라인에 사업장을 둔 채 웹사이트를 통해 성매매를 조장하거나 중개하는 인터넷 연계형 성매매인 오피방 성매매이다. 인터넷을 통해 업주와 성구매자가 직접 접촉을 하는 오피방 성매매에서 나타나는 첫 번째 특징은 성판매 여성과 다른 성판매 여성 간의 접촉, 그리고 업주 측과 성판매 여성 간의 접촉이 최소화 되고 있는 현상이다. ‘집단’의 성격을 가졌던 기존 성매매 시스템과는 달리 신종 성매매에서 성판매 여성은 ‘개별화’와 ‘고립’된 방식으로 통제된다. 업주 측은 오픈된 공간에서 성판매 여성들과 성구매자 가 직접 대면할 수 있는 절차를 생략해 버리고 성매매가 이루어지는 제반 과정에 대한 지식 과 정보로부터 성판매 여성들을 고립시킴으로써 성판매 여성들에 대한 본인들의 착취가 보다 ‘합리적’으로 보일 수 있게 속일 수 있는 토대를 가지게 되었다. 인터넷 연계형 성매매에서 등장하는 두 번째 착취의 특징은 성구매자를 위한 온라인상의 후기 게시판 운영과 이로 인한 새로운 성구매자 권력의 부상을 꼽을 수 있다. 성매매 업소는 성구매자들의 인터넷 성매매 유입을 조장하기 위한 후기 게시판을 운영함으로써 성구매자의 권력을 키워주었고 이는 성판매 여성에 대한 압박과 통제를 정당화할 수 있는 기반이 되고 있다.

영문 초록

This research examines changes of way of exploitating prostitutes in sex industry connected with internet. First aspect of internet connected sex industry is to minimize relationship between prostitutes and traders. Opibang prostitution has found its competitiveness in girlfriend experience so that opibang prostitution try to pretend to be girlfriend s house. Buyers of sexual services contact with traders through online without direct contact with prostitutes so that they go to opibang as if they go to their girlfriend s house. Unlike past prostitution characterized with group or family, this new kind of sex industry is characterized with individualized prostitutes from other peer prostitutes. New sex industry based on internet shows a way of exploitation through isolation of prostitutes. Traders of sex industry prevent prostitutes from contacting directly with buyers of sexual services so that they could easily gain knowledge and information around prostitution and foundation through which they could exploit them with rationality. The second aspect of exploitation in prostitution based on internet is a new power relation between buyer of sexual service and prostitutes. Buyers of sexual service could write their comments of sexual service in online board. Traders could press on prostitutes with buyers comments on her sexual service and this causes traders to exploitate prostitutes effectively.
