국문 초록

With analyzing Mattew 18, I wanted to study the Identity of the Mattean Community and the meaning of its norm. Mattean evkklesia has a character of marginal community against existing order/power and Mattew 18 shows this character very well. Mattew calls community's members 'little ones' and paradoxically presents kingdom of God which is different from the order of this world. new order is embodied in the reponsibility and equality among the community's members. With this, Mattew wants to overcome the conflict between jewish christians and gentile christian in the inside of the community and the confrontation with formative Judaism in the outside of the community. This shows the feature of the Mattean Community as the alternative community. This community criticizes the existing central power and is not assimilated to it, and establishes the critical identity keeping its distance from the dominant and colossal power. This represents the true meaning of the church to Korean churches facing the conflict between generations, or the conflict between the conservative and progressive.
