국문 초록

이 연구 논문은 현대 한국인들과 한국 개신교인들의 영적/초월적 욕구에 대한 진단으로부터 시작하여 한국 개신교회의 영성형성에 초점을 맞추어 다룬다. 한국 사회의 급격한 변화에 의해 야기되는 자기초월적 욕구들과 인간의 근원적 영적 욕구들을 고려할 때, 많은 한국인들은 그들의 마음에 여전히 영적/초월적 욕구들을 갖고 있다. 영적 욕구의 시각에서, 한국 개신교회의 침체는 이러한 영적 욕구들에 대처하는 무능력에 있다. 한국 개신교인들과 한국인들의 영적/초월적 욕구들에 응답하기 위하여 필자는 한국 개신교 영성형성을 위한 두 가지 측면을 제시한다. 첫째는 개신교신앙의 영성을 심화시키는 것이다. 개신교 신앙의 심화를 위해 필자는 성서의 묵상과 연구, 영적 고전의 독서와 실천적 사용, 침묵기도전통의 회복을 제시한다. 둘째로, 기독교 텍스트와 우리의 삶의 경험을 연결함을 통해 영적 삶과 일상적/사회적 삶을 통합하는 것이다. 이러한 영성형성의 궁극적 목표는 그리스도 안에서 우리 삶의 아름다운 과실을 맺는 것이 되어야 한다.

영문 초록

This article begins from the diagnosis of spiritual/transcendent desires of the contemporary Korean people and the Korean Protestants and focuses upon the spiritual formation of the Korean Protestant Church. Considering the self-transcendent desires caused by the stressful change of the Korean society and the human fundamental spiritual desires, many contemporary Koreans still have spiritual/transcendent desires in their hearts. From the perspective of spiritual desires, the decline of the Korean Protestant Church lies at its incapacity to cope with these spiritual desires. In order to respond to the transcendent/spiritual desires of the Korean Protestants and Koreans, author makes two suggestions for the spiritual formation of the Korean Protestant Church. First, it is to deepen the spirituality of the Korean Protestant faith. For the deepening of the Protestant faith author suggests the meditation and study of the Bible, the reading and practice of spiritual classics, and the retrieval of silent prayer tradition. Second, it is to integrate the spiritual life and daily/social life by connecting the Christian texts and the experience of our lives. The ultimate goal of the Protestant spiritual formation should be coming to beautiful fruition of our lives in Christ.
