국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 성별과 중학교 시기의 영재교육 참여 여부에 따른 진로성 숙도의 차이를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 ‘2005 한국교육종단연구’의 5차 년도 조사 당시 고등학교 2학년이었던 조사 참여 학생 중 중학교 2, 3학년 시기에 영재교 육에 참여한 학생 162명과 영재교육에 참여하지 않았던 학생 177명의 진로성숙도를 비교 하였다. 학생의 성별과 중학교 시기의 영재교육 참여 여부를 독립변인으로 하고, 진로성숙 도의 네 하위요인인 ‘계획성’, ‘일에 대한 태도’, ‘자기에 대한 지식’, ‘진로행동’을 종속변 인으로 하는 이원다변량분산분석을 실시한 결과, 학생의 성별만이 진로성숙도의 차이를 유의미하게 설명하였고 중학교 시기의 영재교육 참여 여부에 따른 진로성숙도의 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 영재와 일반학생의 진로성숙도 발달 특성에 관한 논의를 전개하였으며, 관련 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the career maturity of the high-school students differ, according to their gender and the participation in gifted education during middle-school years. In this study, the 5th year s survey data of 2005 Korean Education Longitudinal Study were analyzed. Among the surveyed students who were in the second year of high school in the 5th year survey, 162 students participated in gifted education in the 2nd and 3rd grade of junior high school. The the career maturity of these students were compared with that of 177 students who did not participate in gifted education program during their junior high school years. A two-way MANOVA was conducted using the two independent variables of gender and middle-school year s participation in gifted education program with the four dependent variables of planning, attitude toward work, knowledge of self, and career behavior. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant gender effect on the career maturity, but the the effect of the participation in gifted education programs during middle school years was not statistically significant. Based on the results of this study, the tentative developmental patterns and characteristics of career maturity of gifted students and average students were discussed, and several suggestions regarding future research were suggested.
