사회자원이 노인의 행복감에 미치는 영향: 개인자원의 차이에 따른 네 집단 비교

국문 초록

본 연구는 노인의 개인자원(건강과 경제수준)에 따라 사회자원(공적 지원자원과 사회적 관계자 원)이 행복감에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 건강과 경제수준에 따라 네 집단(빈곤⋅병약, 빈곤⋅건 강, 비빈곤⋅병약, 비빈곤⋅건강)으로 구분한 후 집단별로 공적 지원자원(공적연금, 기초연금)과 사회적 관계자원(자녀와의 관계, 친구이웃과의 관계)이 노인의 행복감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하였다. 고령화연구패널조사(KLoSA) 6차년도(2016년) 자료 중 65세 이상이며 자녀와 동거하지 않는 노인 3,322명을 대상으로 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 공적 지원자원 중공적연금 총액이 많을수록 네 집단 모두에서 노인의 행복감은 증가하였고, 반대로 기초연금 수급여 부는 네 집단 모두에서 노인의 행복감에 유의미한 영향을 나타내지 않았다. 한편, 사회적 관계자원의 경우, 건강 여부와 관계없이 빈곤한 두 집단(빈곤⋅병약, 빈곤⋅건강)에서는 자녀와의 만남과 친구친척이웃과의 만남 빈도가 증가할수록 행복감이 증가하는 것으로 나타나 두 유형의 관계자원 모두가 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있다. 이와 달리 비빈곤⋅병약집단에서는 자녀와의 만남빈도만이, 그리고 비빈곤⋅건강집단에서는 친구친척이웃과의 만남빈도만이 노인의 행복감에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 빈곤하지 않은 집단의 경우 노인의 건강 유무에 따라 행복감에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 사회적 관계자원 유형이 서로 다름을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 함의 및 실천적 제언을 포함하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of social resources (public support resources and social relations resources) on the happiness according to individual resources (health and economic status). Four group categories according to the health and economic status were compared (Poor-Not healthy, Poor-Healthy, Not poor-Not healthy, Not poor-Healthy). This study examined how public support resources (public pension, basic pension) and social relations resources (relationship with their children, relations with their friends) affect the happiness of the elderly. A multiple regression analysis was conducted on 3,322 elderly people aged 65 and over who were not living with their children in the 6th wave (2016) of Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA). Results showed that as the total amount of public pension was increased, the happiness increased in all four groups and the basic pension status did not significantly affect the happiness of the elderly in all four groups. On the other hand, in the case of social relations resources, happiness increased as the frequency of meeting with children and friend-relative neighbors increased in the two groups with economic needs. In the Not poor-Not healthy group, only the frequency of child contact showed a significant effect on the happiness of the elderly. In the Not poor-healthy group, only the contact with friend-relative neighbors had a significant effect on the happiness of the elderly. This study confirmed that the effects of social relational resources on the elderly could be different according to health and economic status. Finally, implications of this study and practical suggestions are included.
