독거노인과 비독거노인의 건강정보이해능력에 영향을 미치는 요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 독거노인과 비독거노인의 건강정보이해능력 수준을 파악하고, 독거노인과 비독거노인의 노인의 건강정보이해능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전국 만 60세 이상 80세 미만 노인 526명을 대상으로 조사를 실시한 ‘치매정보이해능력 설문조사’자료를 활용하였으며, 독거노인 128명과 비독거노인 398명의 자료를 분석에 사용되었다. 연구결과, 독거노인의 건강정보이해능력수준이 비독거노인에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았으며, 건강정보이해능력의 세부항목 중 글 로 쓰인 건강정보 이해에 대한 어려움이 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다. 독거노인과 비독거노인의 건강정보이해능력에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 연령과 교육수준으로 연령이 높고 교육수준이 낮을수록 건강정보이해능력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 함께 건강정보이해능력의 영향요인에서 독거 노인이 가지는 차별적인 요인은 사회적지지와 사회참여 특성을 포함한 사회적 관계 요인이었으며, 비독거노인은 외래이용 여부와 우울수준 등 건강요인으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 노인의 건강정보이해능력을 증진시키기 위해서는 노인의 가구특성을 반영할 필요가 있음을 보여주고 있으며, 연구결과를 토대로 노인의 건강정보이해능력 수준을 높이기 위한 제언을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the level of health literacy of the elderly living alone and the elderly living not alone and to examine the factors influencing on health literacy. With those purposes, ‘Dementia Health Literacy Survery’ which was a nationwide representative survey was conducted for community-dwelling older adults aged 60 to 79. Data was selected proportionally according to gender, age, and region. In-home interview were conducted by professional interviewers between July and August 2016. This study analyzed total 526 respondents for final analysis, including 128 older adults living alone and 398 older adults living with family or others. The major findings are as follows. The level of health literacy among the elderly living alone was significantly lower than those living with family or others. Common factors influencing on health literacy were age and education. In addition, a factor affecting the health literacy of the elderly living alone was social support and social participation, whereas a factor influencing the health literacy of the elderly living with others was outpatient medical service use and depression level. This study showed that it is necessary to reflect the differences in households characteristics. when developing programs to enhance the health literacy. Based on the results, implications for improving elderly’s health literacy were suggested.
