매출채권관리의 국내외 연구동향과 연구방향

국문 초록

본 연구는 지난 50여 년 동안 국내 학위논문과 주요 학술지에 게재된 총 34편, 그리고 65여 년동안 해외 박사학위논문과 주요 학술지에 게재된 총 111편에 관한 국내외 매출채권관리 관련 연구를 분석하여 매출채권관리 연구의 흐름과 동향을 파악하고 향후 연구의 방향을 제시하였다. 매출채권관리 연구의 동향 정리를 토대로 몇 가지 유의미한 특징과 연구동향을 찾아 낼 수 있었 다. 첫째, 국내의 매출채권관리 연구의 대상은 대부분 대기업을 대상으로 이뤄졌다. 이는 매출채 권관리의 결과를 비교적 단기간에 명확히 측정할 수 있으며 연구결과의 활용이 비교적 용이한 장점은 있으나 중소기업에게 매출채권관리가 더 중요하다는 측면에서 기존연구의 한계점이 있으며, 최근 해외 연구에서 중소기업에 대한 매출채권연구가 활발하다는 점을 감안할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 매출채권관리 관련 국내외 연구는 매출채권관리의 효율적 관리와 경영성과를 제고시 키기 위한 연구가 대부분이었는데, 매출채권관리의 내용은 사전적 채권관리와 사후적 채권관리로 나눌 수 있었다. 사전적 채권관리는 신용판매관리와 신용통제관리, 사후적 채권관리는 회수 관리로 분류하고 있으며 이는 매출채권관리의 주요한 변수로 간주되고 있다. 해외 연구의 경우 현금주기를 축소하여 수익성을 제고하려는 최근 연구 동향이 파악되었다. 셋째, 연구 분석방법은 해외의 경우 질적 연구가 많이 이뤄져 매출채권에 대한 이론이 정립된 이후 양적연구가 많이 다뤄졌다. 국내의 경우 질적 연구와 양적 연구가 같이 진행되다가 최근 양적 연구위주로 연구가 진행되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 향후 국내 매출채권관리 관련 연구방향을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

We reviewed 34 articles in domestic major theses and major academic journals over the past 50 years, as well as 111 articles published in overseas doctoral dissertation and major academic journals for 65 years, as per accounts receivable management, in order to understand trends of accounts receivables management research. Based on the intensive review, some significant features and research trends were found. First, most studies of the management of receivables management in Korea were done for large corporations. This is because it is possible to measure the results of the receivables management in a relatively short period of time and it is relatively easy to utilize the results of studies. However, there is a major limitation in that the management of receivables is more important to SMEs. Considering that the SME-focused research is active in overseas, Korean studies need to be facilitated, focusing on accounts receivables management research for SMEs. Second, most studies focused on efficient management of receivables management and improvement of management performance. The major themes and/or contents of the receivables management can be divided into proactive credit management and post-credit management. Proactive credit management is classified as credit sales management and credit control management, while post-credit management as collection management. In the case of overseas research, recent research trends were identified to improve profitability by reducing cash cycle. Third, in the overseas literature, a lot of quantitative research has recently been done after the theory of the receivables had been established along with a lot of qualitative research. On the other hand, in the Korean literature, qualitative research and quantitative research have been progressed together, and recent studies have begun to focus on quantitative research. Lastly, we suggested the future research directions on the management of accounts receivable in Korea based on domestic and overseas study trends.
