만2세 영아와 교사 간 비언어적 의사소통의 의미 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 영아반 교실에서 나타나는 영아와 교사의 비언어적 의사소통의 특성과 그 의미를 보다 풍요롭고 깊이 있게 들여다봄으로써 비언어를 통한 영아 교사 간 의사소통 경험의 질적 측면을 고찰하고자 하였다 자료 수집을 위하여 시의 영아전담 어린이집 만 세반의 영아 명을 개월 동안 총 회기에 걸쳐 비참여 관찰하고 담임교사와 회의 비형식적 면담을 실시하였다 연구자들은 수집된 자료에서 비언어적 의사소통의 의미를 담아내는 분류체계를 구성하고 연구 참여자들의 관점과 경험의 의미를 분 석하였다 연구의 결과 비언어적 의사소통은 의례를 넘어서는 방법으로 감정이 소통되도록 하며 동시다발적인 의사소통이 가능한 방법이었다 또한 비언어적 의사소통은 충분하고 즉시적인 의사 전달 방법이었으며 너와 내가 소통하고 있다는 증표라는 점을 발견할 수 있었다 이에 본 연구는 교사가 영아의 비언어적 표현이 정보와 개념전달에 필요한 보완적 도구의 역할을 넘어서 정서적 교감과 존재에 대한 수용을 의미한다는 것을 이해하고 교실에서 영아와의 비언어적 의사소통이 충만하게 나타날 수 있도록 하는 민감하고 반응적인 지지자가 되어줄 것의 제안하였다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to look in depth into the characteristics and meanings of nonverbal communication between infants and teachers in the class for infants, thereby considering the qualitative aspects of nonverbal communication experience between infants and teachers. In order to collect the data, six infant at day care center in P city were performed nonparticipation observation during the 2 month period for a total of 18 sessions and three informal interviews were conducted with the homeroom teacher. The researchers constructed a classification system for the meaning of nonverbal communication in the collected data and analyzed the meaning of the viewers and experiences of the research participants. The results demonstrate that nonverbal communication makes possible affective communication beyond the formality, and also multiple, simultaneous interactions. Also, nonverbal communication was found to be an effective way to convey messages in a sufficient and immediate fashion, serving as a proof of successful communication between interactants. Hence, this study suggests that teachers should understand that infants’ nonverbal expression not only plays complementary roles in communicating information or concept, but also implies affective communion and acceptance of a being, and that they should also try to be sensitive and responsive supporters, facilitating positive nonverbal communication with infants in the classroom.
