국문 초록

이 연구는 현행 문학 교과서를 통해 수행되는 한국신화 교육의 현황을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 문학교육 관점에서 한국신화의 교육적 가치를 도출한 뒤 학습활동 구성 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 문학교육에서 신화교육의 학습활동은 신화의 문학교육적 의의를 잘 구현할 수 있는 내용으로 다양한 시각에서 구성될 필요가 있다. 본고에서는 기존 논의를 바탕으로 문학교육에서 가르쳐야 할 신화의 교육 내용을 네 가지로 제시하였다. 첫째, 역사적 접근을 통한 내용 구성이다. 이 접근은 신화적 사건을 역사적 자료 차원에서 검증하려는 시도로 주로 신화의 개념과 범주를 파악하는 활동이다. 둘째, 제의적 접근을 통한 내용 구성이다. 이 접근은 우리의 일상생활에서 신화가 구체화되어 나타나는 현상을 이해하려는 시도로 주로 신화와 오늘날 문화의 관계를 이해하는 활동이다. 셋째, 구조적 접근을 통한 내용 구성이다. 이 접근은 신화 자체가 아니라 신화에서 다른 의미를 찾아내고자 하는 시도로 신화의 상징에 대한 해석 능력을 신장하는 활동이다. 넷째, 심리학적 접근을 통한 내용 구성이다. 이 접근은 오이디푸스 콤플렉스처럼 신화 속 인물의 심리를 바탕으로 현대사회의 인간 심리를 이해하려는 시도로 신화를 통한 자아 찾기 활동이다. 본고에서는 다각적인 신화 이해 접근 방법을 통해 다양한 한국신화를 활용하고 있는 웹툰 「신과 함께」를 중심 제재로 하여 교육 내용 구성의 한 예를 구체적으로 제시해 보았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the current state of literature education of Korean mythology which is provided via the current literature textbooks, and based on the result, to derive educational values of Korean mythology in the perspective of literature education in order to suggest the methods for organizing contents of learning activities. In literature education the learning activities of education of myths needs to be constructed from various angles with the best contents that realize well literary educational significance of mythology. Based on existing discussion this study suggests four educational contents of mythologies which are to be taught in literature education. First, the construction of contents through a historical approach. This approach is an attempt to verify mythical events in a dimension as historical materials; the activity is mainly for identifying the concept and category of mythology. Second, the construction of contents through a ritual approach. This approach is an attempt to understand the phenomenon where myths become fleshed out in our everyday life, and the activity helps students understand the relationship between myths and the modern culture. Third, the construction of contents through a structural approach. This approach is an attempt to find out other meanings in myths, not just myths themselves; in this activity the ability to interpret symbols of myths could be heightened. Fourth, the construction of contents through a psychological approach. This approach is an attempt to understand the human mind in the modern society based on the characters’ psychology in mythologies like Oedipus complex, so this activity provides finding identity through myths. In this paper, one example of constructing educational contents is suggested specifically with the webtoon as the main topic which uses several Korean mythologies through diverse approaches to understanding myths.
