국문 초록

이 연구는 생태유아교육의 새로운 방향을 교육과정으로서의 보편성과 민주적 운영원리의 확장성 차원에서 탐색하였다. 먼저 생태유아교육이 교육과정으로서 보편성을 확보하는 지를 누리과정과의 관계성 안에서 살펴 보았다. 생태유아교육과정과 누리과정은 교육내용과 방법에서 철학적 차이가 드러난다. 그러나 생태 교육을 실천하는 과정에서 누리과정의 교육내용을 듀이의 ‘학습자와 교육과정’ 담론에 근거한 교과의 심리화를 위한 참조체계로 해석하여 활용한다면 생태유아교육과정은 교육과정의 확장성과 보편 성을 확보할 수 있다. 다음으로 생태유아교육의 민주적 운영원리를 실천할 수 있는 ‘사회적 경제 국공립어린이집’이라는 새로운 시도를 통해 생태유아교육의 확장성을 살펴보았다. 일반 어린이집 부모와 교사가 사회적 협동 어린이집의 조합원으로서 경험하게 되는 참여, 협력, 신뢰관계, 생태교육, 다양성, 지역성은 생태유아교육에 반드시 포함되어야 하는 민주적 운영원리의 가치이다. ‘사회적 경제 국공립어린이 집’ 부모와 교사들의 실천적 변화를 통해 생명을 살리고 더불어 사는 민주적인 삶에 대한 욕구가 우리 인간의 보편적인 특성이라는 점을 알 수 있다. 결론적으로 생태유아교육은 교과의 심리화를 통한 교육과정의 확대와 민주적 운영원리를 유기적 으로 통합함으로써, 학문적·실천적 지평을 넓혀 나갈 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study explored a new direction of ecological early childhood education in terms of universality as a curriculum and expandability of democratic management principles. First, I examined whether the ecological early childhood education secures universality as a curriculum in relation to the Nu-ri curriculum. The results showed that there were philosophical differences in educational contents and methods of both curricula. However, in the process of practicing ecological education, if the contents of the Nuri-curriculum are utilized after interpreting as a reference system based on Dewey’s discourse of ‘The Child and the Curriculum’, the ecological early childhood education may secure expandability and universality of its curriculum. Next, I looked at expandability of the ecological early childhood education through a new attempt of ‘social economic public child care center’ which can practice democratic management principles of ecological education. The results are as follows: Participation, collaboration, trust relationship, ecological education, diversity, and locality that parents and teachers as union members of social cooperative child care center, are the values of democratic management principles that should be included in the ecological early childhood education; It can be seen that the desire of democratic life to save lives and live together is a universal characteristic of our human being through the practical change of the parents and teachers of ‘social economic public child care center’. In conclusion, the ecological early childhood education may broaden academic and practical prospects by integrating expandability of the curriculum through psychologized subject matters and the democratic management principles.
