유아교육에서의 평화교육 이해와 적용

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아교육에서의 평화교육에 대한 이해와 적용 방안을 모색하기 위한 목적으로 이루어졌다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 설정한 연구문제는 첫째, 유아 평화교육에 대한 이론적 관점을 어떠한가? 둘째, 누리과정에서의 평화교육 관련 내용은 어떠한가? 셋째, 유아 평화교육을 위한 접근방법은 어떠한가? 넷째, 유아교육기관에서 적용할 수 있는 평화교육의 내용과 방법을 어떠한가? 이고, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 평화교육에 대한 개념적 접근에서는 갈퉁, 바이츠제, 오인탁 등의 관점이 제시되었고, 철학적 접근에서는 몬테소리 교육철학에서 평화의 꽃, 러셀의 평화교육 내용에서 생명력 용기 감수성 지성, 힉스의 평화교육 학습목표에서 지식 기술 태도, 함석헌의 씨알 사상, 발라수 리야의 평화적인 인간상 등에서 찾아볼 수 있었다. 심리학 접근에서는 메이어와 셀로비의 정서를 조절하는 능력, 발라수리야의 평화교육 프로그램 모형, 홍순정 최석란 신은수의 평화적 문제해결력, 한혜숙의 평화교육 프로그램 개발 등에서 찾아볼 수 있었다. 또한 사회문화적 접근에서는 스웨덴의 평화교육 워크샵 보고서, 이케다 사이사큐의 생명존중사상을 찾아 볼 수있었다. 둘째, 누리과정에서의 평화교육 관련 내용은 신체운동․건강 영역, 의사소통 영역, 사회관계 영역, 예술경험 영역, 자연탐구 영역 모두에서 찾아볼 수 있었으며 그 중에서 사회관계 영역의 관련성이 가장 크고 자연탐구 영역의 관련성이 가장 적었다. 셋째, 유아기 평화교육의 방법과 내용에서는 평화교육을 위한 교실환경 구성과 유지를 고찰하였고, 평화교육을 위한 교수방법으로는 소집단 토의활동, 그림책 읽어주기, 협동적 활동,평화교육에서의 교사역할 등이 제시되었다. 넷째, 유아교육기관에서 실천할 수 있는 평화교육의 활동의 예로서는 인형을 매개로 공존과 협동을 가르치는 함께 놀이하고 생활하기, 긍정적인 언어표현을 통하여 평화적으로 타협 하기, 다양성을 서로 존중하는 모양나라 이야기, 자신의 감정을 이해하고 표현하기, 이야기 나누기를 통하여 서로의 갈등을 조정하고 나누고 양보하고 조력하는 활동, 다른 나라 사람과도 가족이 될 수 있음을 가르치는 활동 등이 제시되었다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study was to increase the understanding of peace education in early childhood education field and explore the methods for application. To achieve the objective of this study, the following research questions were defined: First, what is the theoretical perspective towards the early childhood peace education? Second, what contents are related to the peace education in Nuri Curriculum? Third, what approach is taken to the early childhood peace education? Fourth, what are the contents and methods for the peace education which can be applied by the early childhood education institutes? The results of this study are as follows: First, this study presented the viewpoints of Weizsaecker, Oh In-tak, etc., in connection with the conceptual approach to peace education, and identified Montessori for philosophical approach, Flower of Peace for education philosophy, vitality, courage, sensitivity, and intellect for peace education of Russell, knowledge, technique, attitude for the learning objective of Hicks peace education, SSial ideology of Ham Seokhon, peaceful human image of Balasooriya, etc. Moreover, we identified the emotion control ability of Meyer and Salover, peace education program model of Balasooriya, peaceful problem-solving ability of Hong Soon-jeong, Choi Seok-ran, and Shin Eun-soo, and peace education program development by Han Hye-sook, etc., in connection with psychological approach. In addition, we identified the life-respecting ideology of Ikeda Saisakyu, peace education workshop report of Sweden in relation to the socio-cultural approach. Second, the details related to the peace education in Nuri Curriculum were found from physical exercise/health realm, communication realm, social relationship realm, art experience realm, and natural exploration realm. Among them, the social relationship realm had the highest relevance, while the natural exploration realm had the lowest relevance. Third, the class environment configuration and maintenance for peace education were examined in relation to the method and contents of the early childhood peace education. Regarding the teaching methods for peace education, the teachers role was presented in small group discussion activities, picture-book reading, cooperative activities, and peace education. Fourth, the presented examples of peace education activities that could be implemented by early childhood education institutes were found to include the shared play & living activities which involved the teaching of coexistence and cooperation through the medium of dolls, peaceful compromise based on positive linguistic expressions, story of shape country respecting the diversity, emotion sharing & expressing activities, conflict settlement through conversations, sharing/conceding/helping activities, and activities to teach the family-like relationship with people from other countries.
